The market town of Helmsley offers an array of boutique shops, restaurants, bars and cafes. Ideally situated for a day in York, yet within an hour of the coastal towns of Scarborough, Whitby and Filey The surrounding area offers a wealth of attractions including market towns at Kirkbymoorside and Malton, stately homes of Castle Howard and Nunnington Hall, abbey ruins at Rievaulx and family fun at Flamingo Land. The dramatic scenery of the North Yorkshire Moors can be enjoyed aboard the famous steam train which runs from Pickering (13 miles) to the ancient fishing port of Whitby.

Outside: communal area for al fresco dining with BBQs and picnic tables. Amenities: ample parking. Bed linen, towels, electric, central heating and wi-fi included.

4 well-behaved dogs welcome in the properties; there are also kennels available and a dog sitting service can be provided. Location: beach at Scarborough within an hour at Scarborough, pubs 3 miles, cafes and restaurants in Helmsley 5 miles. Arrival: 3:30pm.

The accommodation is a beautifully restored barn offering THREE bedrooms: on the ground floor, 1 double with en-suite shower and WC, 1 twin with zip-and-link and en-suite bath with shower over and WC and on the second floor, 1 twin with zip-and-link and en-suite bath and WC. Lounge: on the middle floor with TV, DVD and video. Kitchen/diner: galleried, well-equipped with gas hob and electric oven, fridge with ice box, dishwasher, washer/dryer and microwave.

Outside: courtyard dining space with BBQ. Additional info: Valley View - Holt can be adjoined with Valley View - Drey to sleep 10.
