MR & MRS SROOGE?S Holiday Apartment
Arrived for a week at Christmas to a cold apartment no heating on, no welcome pack and nothing like Christmas not even a small tree. Very small and badly equipped kitchen with only an under counter fridge and ice box. Not a fridge/freezer as advertised so a lot of the frozen food we came prepared with had to be thrown away. No tin foil, no cling film no nothing inadequate kitchen utensils no roasting tins no microwave cookware absolutely disgraceful. One paper thin black bin bag left in smelly and filthy dirty kitchen bin and half a toilet roll left in bathroom. Very little storage room and one of the kitchen cupboards was full of paint cans. Extremely uncomfortable and well past it's sell by date small two seater sofa only. The owners also tried to charge us ?45:00 because two small tiles had fell off the kitchen wall but did not break. Tile adhesive was inadequate we just left the two tiles on the kitchen windowsill. There was also an issue with the shower over the bath the owner alleged we had caused a leak into the downstairs flat. We only had a shower. These are not holiday makers problems especially at Christmas time they are are owners own maintenance issues. Please beware of booking What a View Quayside Apartment at 51 Church Street Whitby. They can?t continue just relying on a harbour view alone. So Mr & Mrs Scrooge get your holiday home in order and do not try and charge holiday makers ?45:00 for your own maintenance issues your a disgrace.

The location is fantastic and I would recommend it as it has wonderful views outside the front windows and surrounding area.

I liked that we were near to everything but also away from the hustle and bustle. The view from the apartment was beautiful, kept my husband entertained all week.
