Lovely, cosy cottage
This 2 bedroom cottage was perfect for our family week in the Lakes. Great location, easy walking to both Windermere and Bowness. Both have many restaurants and pubs, our fav being 'Hole in 't Wall' in Bowness. The cottage had everything we needed. Fully equipped kitchen and nice roll top bath. Beds were really comfortable. The Wi-Fi was quite intermittent though. But the owners had left loads of good info leaflets for walks and things to do.

Quaint and fascinating
Bluebell Brook is a tiny Victorian terrace with three floors. Ground floor is a cosy living room with an enchanting bay window seat looking out onto the street, and a compact kitchen including a full cooker, dishwasher, and washing machine. Upstairs are two bedrooms, a double and a twin, and the world's tiniest ensuite! Downstairs from the kitchen is a second bathroom and a very small patio area next to the brook. The brook is one of the most charming things about the cottage. It flows right past within a metre and lulled us to sleep each night. The bedroom and upstairs bathroom were clean and the bed very comfortable. The en suite has a macerator toilet, and we were sufficiently scared by the signs about how easily it would block up that we never used it for more than the occasional number one! The shower was good, even if a bit cramped. We were less impressed by the cleanliness of the kitchen. The floor was sticky and we had to wash it ourselves. The kitchen is showing its age, and while it is still functional it is overdue for an update. The downstairs bathroom similarly seemed a bit neglected. From an accessibility point of view, the stairs are steep and narrow, and would not suit anyone with significant mobility issues. The location is ideal for the southern Lakes District, being 5 minutes walk from Windermere buses and train, and 10 minutes walk from Bowness shops and boat piers. Plenty of eating places of all types within easy reach, including the pub next door which served good solid pub-grub. Parking was no problem on the street just outside. We enjoyed our stay in Bluebell Brook, whose charm and quaintness overrode its occasional idiosyncracies. If we ever come back to Windermere I'd be happy to stay again.

Absolutely lovely cottage and very close to amenities
We had a a wonderful weekend staying here at the start of December. It was warm and cosy with the heating and fire. It's very accessible as we came via London by train and have no car. Just a short walk from the lake and even though the pub is next door is very quiet! It was spotlessly clean and well kept with beautiful comfy decor. Any queries we had were answered immediately and the owner was so kind and helpful. Would 100% stay again. Ive been recommending this place to lots of friends and hope to make another visit in the future.
