four of us have just spent a week at Stanley cottage we can?t say we didn?t enjoy our trip to Torquay but we were a little disappointed in the house itself it said a garden I would have said Square of concrete with a table not a flower or grass insight the surrounding walls needed whitewashed badly . as did the outside walls on the street side weeds growing up outside .The kitchen was great spotless the beds were spotless and comfortable the bathrooms were lovely but unfortunately the furniture left a lot to be desired I know it was supposed to be a period house but I?m afraid it was A very big miss match of stuff and the days of throws over sofas and little rugs that curl up at edges that people can Tripp on not good the house either has to be period or modern it can?t be both i can?t say it was a bad house but i?ve certainly been in better also i think the details of the house should include that it?s a 10 min walk to town/ beach but that it?s also at the top of a very big and steep hill and anyone with walking difficulties will struggle to walk back up .we had a person who walked with a stick and every night had to get a taxi home because he couldn?t make it up the hill my review is not meant to put people off going to stanley cottage as it wasn?t all bad the equipment in kitchen was great as were the bathrooms and beds but the rest ?WELL? I need to put on an honest review ..m
