Amazing holiday cottage and location in the Yorkshire Wolds
An amazing cottage in a pretty area of the Wolds. The cottage has everything you could hope for and so much trouble has been taken to make your stay as perfect as possible for humans and equally pawfect for canine friends. There are so many fascinating places to visit within easy reach, and the local walks are stunning. Highly recommended.

Idyllic cosy cottage
We had such a wonderful stay at Clara's Cottage. The place was so lovely and it just oozed charm as soon as you walked in, with some local eggs and other goodies already there to welcome us! The beds were super comfy and the fire was so inviting, particularly when coming in from a walk in the cold! The cottage has all you could possibly need in terms of facilities and equipment, whilst being authentic and sympathetic to its original design. Catherine has provided lots of really useful information about local places for food, places to explore within the lovely Yorkshire Wolds and also an interesting history of the cottage. Would definitely recommend Clara's Cottage to anybody who wants an idyllic break in the Yorkshire Wolds. Catherine has lovingly provided a real ?home from home? and we are already looking forward to our next visit.

Eat, Drink, Love
Clara would have been proud of us. Three long-time female friends on a journey of self-discovery as one turned 60 ! Catherine's cottage was the prefect place to relax, unwind and laugh about our past escapades - and plan new ones. We ate breakfast outside in the sunshine (fabulous big garden) , set off each day on an adventure, and got cosy at night in our pjs in front of the log burner. In between we ate great food, drank copious amounts of wine and talked about how important friendship and love is . So what did we enjoy most about this quirky cottage?. Garden and summerhouse aside, it had to be the spacious kitchen, the whirlpool bath, the fresh flowers (and other homely touches) and the luxurious beds. The location was perfect for the coast and lovely market towns. As well as eat, drink and love, we shopped to our heart's content and marvelled at the fabulous gardens at Sledmere House . Thanks Catherine and Clara for some great memories !.

A little slice of Yorkshire Wold Heaven
A stay at Clara's cottage is like the therapy you didn?t know you needed until you get it. As with most of us, The Rumsbys hadn?t left home in anger in best part of 2 years so whilst we were excited to get away, I think we were also a little nervy at what holidays might look and feel like in ? the new normal ? We needn?t have worried a bit - if it were possible, Clara's felt cleaner than ever before and all of the Covid measures the owner has put in place ( for example sealed bags for bedding and towels ) really help to instil confidence and give a feeling that you're being looked after and kept safe. Arriving felt like seeing that old friend you haven?t caught up with in ages or like putting on your favourite pair of slippers. After unloading the car and getting everything in, my wife and I grabbed a drink ,sat down and at the same time , let out a big sigh. It wasn?t just good to be back, it was better than that. We hadn?t realised just how much we had missed the place. Lots of cottages claim to be a home from home but Clara's really is - the kids knew where their room was and we remembered where all the bits we needed so we were instantly at ease. It's a big world out there and there are any number of other places to visit but our son put it best ? why go anywhere else if you already know you love it here? ? Out of the mouths of babes, as they say? The Wolds in general are just lovely, we are firm fans of the Star Inn pub just a couple of villages along in Weaverthorpe whilst we have all agreed, we don't know of a better beach anywhere than down at nearby Hunmanby Gap. Sledmere, just 3 miles up the road, offers a brilliant family day out in stunning surroundings too. As a keen amateur astronomer, I spent every clear night available looking upwards, the Milky Way brighter than I?ve seen anywhere else in England and probably as good as anywhere I?ve seen full stop. There really is very, very little light pollution. This time round, we spread our wings a little farther than usual and we found that Clara's is ideally located , making day trips to York, Whitby and the stunning Dalby Forest a breeze. We won?t just be back - we will keep going back, I can?t see us ever tiring of the warm welcome at Clara's nor of the area it is so magnificently sat in. I?ve never met the owner of Clara's in person but if a property is any reflection of someone at all, then I imagine you'd struggle to meet someone kinder and friendlier. Thanks a million as always!!

Wonderful quiet and comfortable cottage
We've stayed at Clara's three times now, each time we fall a little more in love with this wonderful cottage. Deceptively spacious, the little cottage that you see from the front has two spacious double bedrooms as well as a single. With a large and so well equipped kitchen, dining room, and the snug with its log burner, there's plenty of space to go around. We love the garden and summer house too, just the place to relax with a G&T after a day of exploring the Yorkshire countryside and coast. You can see how much Catherine loves Clara's by the thought that has gone into making everything so perfect, and all the lovely little touches that make your stay that bit more special. As well, of course, as the welcome pack of Yorkshire goodies! Many thanks Catherine, can't wait till our next visit!
