Catbells is a fabulous detached family cottage that sleeps 6 people located on a quiet residential road in Keswick. The cottage has a one bedroom with an en-suite shower room with a basin and WC and there are also 2 single bedrooms with full size single beds and another double bedroom. ?The property also has a family bathroom on the first floor that has a full bath, shower cubicle, basin and WC.
Catbells has a fully equipped kitchen leading onto an open plan lounge/dining area and a wood burning stove. The garden is shared with your own private seating area in which you can relax after a day on the fells.

Decent place, perfect location Can't fault the location here, being a couple of minutes walk from the town centre. And a parking space right opposite is a real bonus. The owner was excellent in communications and always replied promptly. The house itself is just starting to show signs of age, in our opinion. The en-suite shower is looking a little worse for wear, and the beige carpet seems a strange choice when there are boots and dogs around. But overall, a nice place to stay. A good place to stay. My second stay in less than a year at this cosy home. It's so central for everything - restaurants, shops, lake, park etc. We had fabulous weather while there but it did turn chilly in the evening, the log burning fire was lovely. I would highly recommend this home, I stay with my family but think it would be a good base for a group of friends to stay too. The owner is very helpful and nothing seems to be any bother. Could be so much better shame about the service We stayed over the New Year 2013 -14 which having been to Keswick many times is a great week. On arrival the owners were still in the property (found this out when had to complain re cracked window from the booking agency Manager in Keswick) The house is in a great location but small things needed attention and for over a £1000 for the week seems a reasonable ask
Clearly only interested in taking money with little attention to guests
1. Central Heating not allowed to set timer - switch locked in cupboard ITS WINTER !!!!!! (had an override but no good having paid £1k to keep pressing every hour - also radiators needed bleeding on the top floor as the first 2 night our bedroom was like the North Pole
2. Bathroom - only has towel rail and this was on the timer so early morning visits in the COLD
3. Tap on sink loose
4. Cracked dishes
5. Shower grout dirty
6. Bathroom door cracked - reported and the management then owners
Owners first response via phone was to say sorry I'm not fixing it as its not dangerous -ITS A CRACKED GLASS in a door AND WE HAD MY DAUGHTER STAYING ??????
Finally pantry door handle - we fixed the missing screw as it was driving us nuts - do not believe all these where missed more a case of thanks for the payment and ignore standards
The house check list needs to be so much more
The manager in Keswick office of the Cottage Holiday Group leaves a lot to be desired in her attitude - a genuine list of issues and her reply was to clearly side with the owner. Finally the owner saw sense and attended the issues but he should have sorted before we arrived without the poor dialogue I had to endure
Also they fail to show the grotty caravan at the side of the property which is an eyesore.(not theirs but still)
The lounge has a dehumidifier due to condensation - must be an old house issue.
The house could be so much more if attention to detail and the agency actually focused on the paying guest not the relationship with the house holder
Location its superb, Wood burner again nice touch. We will be returning to Keswick but sadly not to this establishment - Having paid top price for the New Year we expected so much more
Back to Owners direct for our future booking having just booked a house round the corner we stayed at in the past where we had NO issues

our holiday Great service given by agency, just an idea to you to offer two sets of keys at the start of the holiday. The house was great lots of room, lovely kitchen, and bathrooms would stay again and a big thank you for letting the dog's stay. My only issues were, The heating was set not to my likeing and I had no control of when to have it on or off. The radiator in the shower room on the middle floor never came on and the bathroom was freezing. I was cold most of the time. We had no table out side as advitised on your advert as some of my party smoked . I also spent over £18:00 on fire wood kindell and fire lighters and never did manage to get the fire properly going no instructions.finally no mop or bucket or brush to clean.
