Great location
The Margarets is in a great location, although be mindful it's accessible via steps and situated on a hill so if mobility is an issue think again. Additionally, if like us you have a baby with you, it is tricky getting a pushchair up and down the steps. The parking space is for a small car only and unless your parallel parking is top notch you may find it difficult to negotiate especially when arriving in the dark. That said, the neighbour came out and kindly moved his car to allow us to park easily as he's very used to the tight spot! There is a public car park down the road which I think charged £6 for long stay. Although classed as dog friendly, the garden is concrete/shale so no grass for furry friends. It is also very steep and is terraced into sections. The beds were very comfy and the house was clean. The utensil drawers could do with a sort out as some things looked old and tatty. Replacement pegs would be good as I had to do a load of washing and when hanging clothes out found the washing line covered in cobwebs and the pegs a little rusty having been left out. I have quite high standards and would say that some areas of the house look tired and in need of updating which isn't immediately obvious when you see the promo photographs. Overall I would say the house is good value for money and it's location sells it. Ideal for a long weekend. If you have a dog, go to Orcombe Point, Exmouth where there's a fabulous sandy beach and doggy heaven!

A beautiful seaside cottage
We loved our stay at The Margarets. The cottage is fantastic - super comfy beds, very clean & excellently equipped. Well positioned in Beer & a parking space! We spent an extremely happy holiday here.

Thoroughly gorgeous cottage by the sea
From the moment we arrived we were very impressed with the standard of 'The Margarets'. The decor and thoughtfulness of the property is fantastic. The kitchen is brilliantly well equipped with everything we could think of! The beds are comfy and the shower is great too. It has the most attention to detail of any rental we have ever stayed in. Beer is just lovely. We came for Regatta week and there was lots to do! We would recommend the walks to Seaton and Branscombe (perhaps get the bus home though!), Lyme Regis (NOT Charmouth - awful beach!) Sidmouth. We mainly spent days on the beach, or pebble painting on a rainy day. Our dog enjoyed the cottage too! You won't regret booking 'The Margarets'!
