Lovely part of the world
The accommodation was comfortable clean and spacious. Hosts live next door. an oversite on my part There were a lot of very good free activites locally-crabbing, minehead beach, cider farm, donnington animal farm so we didnt mind spending money on dunster castle castle and cleeve abbey where the staff were particularly knowledgable and we could have stayed all day. I dont think this property is appropriate for young children, or disabled Unfortunately a car is essential. Back to accommodation Curtains in twin room/childrens were light coloured so early waking was a problem. I think others have been changed to blackout. An efficient tin opener is a must. I think it was the only thing i didnt take. Garden- the picture gives the impression of a spacious garden. That was one of my requirements. Although it didnt say that in the summary. The garden was lovely but not really suitable for family games. One of the other requirements was a BBQ. Admittedly we wouldnt have been able to use it due to drought conditions. However, on arrival it is a BBQ STAND(not the same thing) and you need to provide your own. Given the fact portable BBQs are being phased out, i dont know how practical this would be. Parking-having read the manual several times it stated that " parking at the front for loading and unloading and additonal parking to the side on chippings. It didnt say at any point that it was obligatory. There was also a no parking sign. Two visits one at 9:30pm was inappropriate from hosts. We didnt know but the watchet music festival started across the rd on 26th august when we were retuning home the next day. Hence no sleep. Had that been included in the summary we would either have booked tickets or chosen a different location It was a bit big brotherish but didnt detract from our family holiday being enjoyable and mememorable. There were people in our party with special needs. It did make me think. as well as having cerificates for membership to self catering companies some indication of the appropriateness of accommodation, amenities and local services for special needs might be useful. Might be something company needs to consider.
