The imposing church of All Saints in Laxfield forms one side of an impressive set of historic buildings, beside an attractive old inn and opposite the brick and timber-framed Guildhall. Much of the church dates to the 14th century, though the very attractive porch is a century later.

An attractive 13th-century chapel of flint beneath a thatched roof, located in a peaceful countryside setting. The chapel was built around 1250 and may have been associated with a nearby monastery on the site of Chapel Farm. St James Chapel was probably built to serve the Castle of Lindsey, whose earthwork remains lie just southeast of the chapel site.

St Margaret's church began as a chapel of ease to Mendham Priory in the early 13th century. Though most of the furnishings are Victorian, the church features a richly carved 14th-century octagonal font decorated with figures of lions, and a series of medieval bench ends including the figure of a roaring lion.
