St Mary's church dates to the 11th century and retains a Norman doorway, but much of the present building is 14th-15th century. Highlights include an ornately carved 14th-century angle piscina and very good Victorian stained glass windows commemorating the Benyon family of Culford Hall.

St Margaret's church dates to the 14th century and boasts perhaps the oldest painted screen in England, built shortly after 1330. There are several fascinating historic memorials including the ornate white marble tomb of Maurice Barrow (d. 1658) and another to William Barrow (d. 1613).

St Andrew's church was begun in 1362 by Sir John Wingfield as a collegiate church, with a college of priest's to pray for his soul. It later became the parish church and boasts tombs to generations of the Wingfields and the De la Poles, Earls of Suffolk. Look for 15 medieval misericords in the chancel and an unusual 18th-century 'hudd', a rain protector for a priest while officiating at burials in bad weather.

A tiny Norman church, much restored in the Victorian period. Indeed, the restoration, carried out by SS Teulon from 1857, makes this attractive church look like a 19th-century invention at first glance, but it most assuredly is not. This simple church contains superb Norman and medieval carvings.
