The Ten Bells stands in the shadow of Schrists Church, Spitalfields, across the road from Spitalfields Market. There is some suggestion the the infamous Victorian murderer Jack the Ripper was a patron of the Ten Bells. Certainly several of his victims met their end in the alleys around this area.
