RECENT CUSTOMER REVIEWS

Adequate but no more
I wrote a review on the Sykes cottages website but for some reason it hasn't been published! The Nest is adequate. The bed is very uncomfortable as is the bench. The heating isn't really good enough for the January temperatures. The noise from the floorboards above is very loud. We are asked to leave it as we found it but there was no washing up liquid or pads etc to keep the place clean. Apart from that.... it is adequate. I don't write this lightly. But if I'd read my review I might have booked somewhere that was more than adequate and from where I wouldn't need to go home early due to a permanent aching back. An ache that resolved itself within hours of getting home. Read all my other reviews. I prefer to give praise. Really I do.

OK but a little cramped
Plus points - welcoming friendly hosts, good location and great that it's pet friendly. On the slightly down side - be aware that the accommodation is very compact with little natural light, inadequate bedside lighting for reading and some floor noise from apartment above when occupied.

I love the ambience of The Nest, it is always a pleasure for my dog and I to stay there. It has all you could need in a cosy and well-designed space. We were made to feel very welcome and looking forward to the next visit!

Nice location - shame about the noise
The cottage was OK. Everything worked. Apart from the bed, which was uncomfortable, couldn't really complain about the actual cottage. Little things were missing, which looking at previous reviews, had been provided in the past. The BIG problem was the sound proofing between ourselves and upstairs. They were loud (music and dog's barking). We booked the cottage for a peaceful weekend away, which we did not get. If you can tolerate what sounds like a herd of elephants moving around above, then this cottage will suit you.

The location was very tranquil and relaxing. The Nest was a the perfect get away from it all break. We would recommend to anyone.
