RECENT CUSTOMER REVIEWS

A great location let down by condition and cleanliness
This is an idyllic spot but it should not be at the expense of the basics. The property is rated by Sykes Holiday Cottages as 4 ticks ?Excellent standard throughout?, but in my opinion it would be more correctly described as old and tired. However, the main issue is the cleanliness. A number of reviews have mentioned that the property needs a deep clean, and it really does ? I wish I had read them first!

Very relaxing stay in a perfect location
We had an excellent stay in Ninea, the cottage is spacious and well equipped. The location is unbeatable and well placed for nice walks along the path. We had prompt and helpful responses to questions from the property manager before our stay. We are already planning our next trip back.

me and my husband absolutely love this place!!
wallingford is a quirky little town which is nice to have walk around (no need to take the car as its on your doorstep) the dolphin pub is quite nice and if you eat in there, you will not walk out hungry! as said the river is at the bottom of a well maintained garden, which is handy as my husband is an avid angler. i know there has been issues with the heating/boiler, this has now been resolved as a new one has been installed, there has also been areas of redecoration and skylight cleansing also the baths have been re-sealed which tell me former complaints have been listened to and attended to! we'll be back again...as often as possible!

My complaints not listened to and made to feel like a liar.
In 22 years of weekends away twice a year this stay is the worst that we have experienced. It was exceptionally cold with inadequate heating. Even with cold weather one would expect to be as warm as at home! The owner stated that we should have filled in an issues review form. We did but it disappeared after we left. There were lots of cobwebs in the skylight, one double bed had paper, dust and dirt underneath. The patio doors are old, rusty and dirty around the tracks. This property is resting on its location laurels. The location is excellent but that's it. Worst of all I have been made to feel a liar. I would not recommend this property or Sykes Cottages

Beautiful location, excellent garden, enough space for a large family
Excellent location, rural but the convenience of a small market town in your backyard. As the say "a house is all about location" well this is house really beautifull located. House is self shows it self very well on pictures. But quality in real time is a bit different. Bit damp, everything is painted white but badly done, finishing in the house is poor. Enough square footage to live in comfort. But all in all good do with not a little tlc but a lot of tlc.(roof/drainpipe especialy) Very nice lawn, decking, beautiful location for a big garden party. Parking your car is possible, there is a kind of garage without a roof (Of road parking) but not with the easiest entry . The lacking of a roof and the big tree that covers the parking space your car looks terrible after a night being parked there. So all in all, a mixed picture. We paid the top fee because of the season, for that amount of money the quality could be a bit better. Thats the reason for the three stars, in the low season the value for money balance is a bit better. Last thing washing machine only 3 kg, and no tumble dryer.
