Christmas cosyiness I stayed in this cottage for a long weekend with my family and dog. we had a truly wonderful time. The cottage is cozy and so welcoming. The kitchen has everything you need, loved the fine detail of different glasses for every type of tipple you love. nothing has been forgotten the owners have made a real effort to make your stay as relaxing as possible, sitting in front of the woodburner you really unwind and forget your worries. Games or books your thing? It's all there to while away an hour or two.
Upstairs is a fabulous walk in shower and large bedroom with comfy bed for a restful nights sleep.
Outside the cottage you are 5 mins from the high peak trail where beautiful countryside awaits. Alternatively walk into town for a stroll along the canal.
Eating in Cromford is easy, try the greyhound or boat pubs both dog friendly. Lots of cafes too and two fabulous fish and chip shops (we managed to try one, the perfect excuse to revisit!).
To summarise if you are lucky enough to stumble across this cottage do not hesitate and book it immediately. we hope to go back really soon it's a real jewel of tranquillity. daisydoodle5 2018-12-23
Perfect, authentic cottage, great transport links! Derby Dales delight ! Lovely ! Authentic cottage, restored in a contemporary & sympathetic style. Spotlessly clean with lovely welcome touches. Local shops, pubs, Post Office all in the village within easy reach. Great transport links with buses & trains to nearby Matlock, etc. Perfect base for some lovely Derbyshire walks, lots of maps at the cottage for you to peruse while enjoying the log burner ! Love love loved it We stayed for a long weekend 31/03/17 - 03-04/17 and what a beautiful little cottage for my surprise birthday present - the fella did good :) It had everything we needed and more. Super cosy, super clean and super surroundings. The little extra's of milk in the fridge and especially the dog bowls, treats and towels (thankfully the towels didn't get used as the weather was also super) we thought were great. The neighbours were all really friendly as was everyone we met. It had everything on our doorstep, shop, butchers, pubs and restaurants and of course amazing walks. If you want fine dining then The Greyhound is your place, the food and staff were amazing. If you want pub grub, a few drinks and somewhere to relax with the very welcoming locals then The Boat Inn is your place, they particularly love dogs. To venture further afield I highly recommend Dovedale, absolutely stunning, also Hope Valley in Bamford. We will definitely be back and will be staying longer so we can visit the many places we couldn't fit in over 3 days - we totally fell in love with the area. Perfect little cottage! Spent 2 nights in this gorgeous little cottage. It has everything you need and nothing you don't!
Clean, cosy and comfortable, stoke up the wood burner and open the red wine!
Highly recommended! ChadandRoxy 2017-03-08
Lovely little weekend getaway Lovely little hideaway very sympathetically restored in the centre of Cromford, easy to access both Matlock and Matlock Bath and many places to explore further afield. The owners have carried out a really great renovation with some lovely quirky touches - the shower is to die for! The cottage has all the amenities a couple on a weekend or break would need, with some additional sympathetic touches such as chocolates on arrival. Would recommend lighting the log burner, getting tucked in for the evening with a bottle of wine and some fish and chips from Rowbottoms! The tapas bar in the market square was also very nice.
