Weekend break
A peaceful weekend away with my 15 year old daughter we both loved the cottage amazing location. The cottage itself is finished to a high standard, clean and very cosy on the cold winter evening. Nice country pub just up the road for a meal and only a short walk into Matlock Bath although a steep climb back up hill. Would definitely recommend and hope to visit again.

Cosy, well equipped and very clean cottage
This cottage is perfectly modernised. The kitchen is well equipped with everything you could possibly need. Cosy living area with woodburner (basket of logs included). The beds were super comfy. Decent off road parking for one car. Cannot fault it.
Location-wise, it is just outside Matlock and Matlock Bath. It is opposite a footpath that runs down a hill to the Heights of Abraham cable cars and the railway station at Matlock Bath (15 minutes downhill, longer on the way back up!). A hilltop walk leads off this toward Matlock town (about 30 minutes of quite steep walking). You can also walk into Matlock via the quiet road from the house. Chatsworth is about 20 minutes away by car and Alton Towers about 50 minutes. Plenty of other lovely places of interest within a short driving distance.
There is a cosy pub within 10 minutes' walk called The White Lion - really yummy food and family friendly. Plenty of other pubs in Matlock and Matlock Bath.
We had such a lovely holiday here. The cottage was the perfect place to come back to after long walks and we would thoroughly recommend it. The owners have obviously put a lot of effort and thought into it and it is much appreciated.

The cottage was perfect in every way. There was simply everything you needed; all the mod cons in the kitchen were of a very good quality, the bed was comfortable and the shower was superb. The cottage is a very good base, it is easy to get to wherever you want to go.
