We had a fantastic stay. After reading the above review I would probably not have booked but we are super glad we did. We found Shaun to be very pleasant and easy going. Our flight arrived early and so we arrived early and he didn't seem to mind at all. No this was not a hotel which is what we wanted. We were happy to not be disturbed and have the amenities of home. We found the furniture to be better quality than some 5star hotels we have stayed in. The price was ridiculously cheap. There were no aditional cleaning fees and location was great. After a busy day of sightseeing or visiting we were happy to head back and have a coffee on the deck outside. We wI'll rent again next year when we go back to the uk.
We also had a constant stream of visitors which I thought would be a problem. But was not.
Washer and dryer are outside in another building which we did not find to be a problem as the previous reviewer did. I can't see why anyone would have anything negative to say. It is a fantastic rental! JLTSX 2017-04-10
We had a fantastic 3 night stay at this cottage, we enjoyed the good space and comfort of it every second. The kitchen is big and the cupboards are full with everything you need if you really want to cook. The bedrooms were a good size and there were 2 bathrooms with showers. The location is exactly what we needed - we had a day out in Liverpool and one in Chester, both were easily accessible, less than 30 minutes drive. Mrs Vulpoiu 2016-05-03
View Cottage was a comfortable and conveniently located cottage with good facilities and a helpful owner. We particularly liked the general areas surrounding the property, particularly the local walking routes.

Real life Fawlty Towers We had booked this rental for 4 weeks while we were having some renovations done to our home. I am so glad it was not booked as a holiday as it would have been the holiday from hell.
We arrived one hour after the agreed book in time and were met with a vacuum cleaner abandoned on the porch together with a bed. We entered and our eyes went immediately to the first of many unwelcoming notices stuck to the walls in every room. The first one read ?THIS IS NOT A HOTEL? and went on from there. I have photos of all the signs and I am happy to email to these to any one who wishes to see them.
The owner Shawn then turned up and we asked him that as we would be staying for 4 weeks (at full weekly rate plus two booking fees) what would be happening regarding changing the towels and bedding. We were told in no uncertain manner that there would be no change during our stay, as Shawn said ?if we did that there would be no money in the job?. No change of bedding for four weeks definitely ?NOT A HOTEL?.
The property itself is let down by the cheap furniture and totally inadequate cleaning regime. The dishes in the cupboards were not properly washed, plates dirty, glasses were dull and misted. On checking the bedrooms we found among other items, used birthday candles under one bed and a child's top down the side of another (see photo) Perhaps even four weeks without a change of bedding was not enough of a saving for the owner.
We did at least not feel lonely due to the constant stream of surly men who daily wandered past the windows and round the property. They seemed to be working on various outbuildings but as nothing about this was mentioned to us I can but surmise.
After 3 weeks of our dreary stay the tedium became worse when the wifi, intermittent at best, finally admitted defeat and expired. I am guessing that even the wifi couldn?t face living there any longer. My partner after 2 days with no explanation forthcoming emailed Shawn to politely inquire if there was a problem and if so was there any timescale for a resolution. She received no reply so 8 hours later she rang Shawn who was absolutely horrible to her stating that obviously there was a problem as it wasn't working and that he didn't reply to email rants. The wifi was not fixed until our final day.
A week later as we were leaving he came over to apologise for his manner, saying that when my partner rang him he was tired as he had been on a course. My first thought was hurrah a long overdue customer service course, but sadly it wasn't. Leaving it one week without contact before apologising seemed odd but I assume after 4 weeks of a tortuous stay it had occurred to him that it was possible we may actually review the place and was therefore seeking to curry favour before we departed.
This is NOT a holiday let it is obviously aimed at contractors who may have a different attitude to what the basic minimum in accommodation and customer service should be for their type of stay. The owner has renamed the rental as Paytostay and their website makes this target group clear. If you want a peaceful holiday without draconian rules to follow and an unhelpful and overbearing landlord don't choose this rental.
I am sure that Shawn will reply rubbishing my report. With this in mind I would strongly advise you to read some of my many other reviews and decide for yourself if I am the sort of person who rubbishes every property or if I write honest reviews in an attempt to give helpful advice. The house was big enough for two families to spend time together and having two bathrooms was a must. In a great location, central for all of the Wirral, Chester and Liverpool. Mrs Marriott 2014-12-28
