Beautiful cottage, perfect location
Alice's Cottage is right in the centre of Hawkshead. The interior is finished to a really high standard and has all the things you need to be comfortable while away. The welcome basket on arrival helped us settle in and included a fresh loaf to select from the shop next door. Weve been really comfortable and felt at home here. We're without a car, but the local buses are good and Hawkshead I a perfect base.

Fantastic
Have stayed in Hawkshead nine times in all now, this cottage has to be the best ever. Tastefully renovated, the owner has resisted the temptation to use brown cottagey furniture and twee fittings; still has a cottage feel but with up to date and top class furniture and fittings. We had best nights sleep in a long time! So handy for the four pubs in the village, and right next door to the Honey Pot, which I cannot resist, also Hawkshead Relish Shop. Original front door could benefit from a heavy curtain in the winter; bit draughty.

Lovely place to stay
The cottage is well placed on the square, good view of the Tea shop and pub, we always knew the best times to visit! The cottage has been refurbed to a high standard, all that you'd need for a break is catered for. Roomy, comfy lounge/ diner, good size bedroom and bathroom, a cosy place to stay.

Great little cottage for a relaxing break
We had a fabulous time in the Lake District and this cottage was in a great location as a base. Very comfortable, beautifully furnished with amazing attention to detail. Awesome deep roll-top bath and huge bed
