Great Yorkshire holiday
Stayed at the Cake House for 1 week. Meg the owner was in contact prior to our arrival, and again during our stay with clear instructions for key collection, and updates with all the extra covid 19 precautions taken etc., which made us feel safe and relaxed staying in the property. The house was immaculately clean, comfortable and very well equipped. The provision of milk and cake on our arrival was a nice touch. The location is great fof travelling around north Yorkshire and the east coast. We would definitely stay here again, and would recommend to anyone considering a visit.

Cake House
Everything positive but please take pictures of all furniture on entering this cottage they will try to say u have left their premises with marked tables broken horse ornaments and demand 100pounds extra for cleaning bills when u have left the premises with beds that are stripped ready to clean watered plants on our stay recycled on owners request left everything ready for cleaners to wash or get started but owner has asked for a further 100.oo pounds we apparently left house in appalling state. There was my husband my daughter and 2 grand children and my self I have never ever treated any one else's house with disrespect I am appalled at this attitude we stayed at another property in same area on 2nd week of our holiday no problem what so ever so please take photos of ur accommodation before u un pack I will never trust any person again without doing this my self please be warned

Family holiday
Had a great stay for a week at the Cake house with my mum,dad ,Fiance and 4 year old daughter, spoke with Meg before heading down what a helpful and very friendly lady, house was immaculate and was really nice touch having fresh milk in fridge and cake which was delicious. Garden had little water feature which was lovely kitchen very country feel to it felt very homely the house was stocked with toilet roll, soap towels and many more things which is very useful I recommend this house for a great stay was close by to many nice places and Malton town is lovely will be back in the future hopefully if we head to Yorkshire thanks very much Meg for a very pleasant experience 5*

Lovely house to spend a week sightseeing
We arrived after a long trip up from Cornwall via Heathrow to pick up an Australian relative. We were greeted by tea and Yorkshire Brack and milk in fridge which was very welcome indeed. The Cake house is within 15-20 minutes walking distance from the the town of Malton with all it's amenities. The house it self was immaculate and spotlessly clean. Absolutely anything you could need was there. We really could not fault it. It was very well placed for touring. Castle Howard was 5 miles away, we went on the North Yorkshire Railway, steam hauled train to Goathland (Aidensfield in Heartbeat) and did a lovely round walk to Mallyan Spout and Beckhole and back to Goathland Station (Hogsmeade Station in the Harry Potter film). York was only 16 miles away and of course all the lovely villages and tea rooms of North Yorkshire. The cottage itself is on a new estate but do not let that put you off. It is lovely and Carolyn the owners mum is very friendly and helpful. Would definitely book again if holidaying in the area.
