Lovely stone cottage in a great location
We really enjoyed our stay at the Wood. The cottage is very clean, cosy and well-equipped with fabulous rural views and in a great location. There are lots of nice walks in the area to nearby villages, and we never tired of walking around the picturesque village of Brompton by Sawdon itself. The location between Pickering and Scarborough is ideal, with Malton, the food capital of Yorkshire, around 20 minutes' drive away.
Marlene, the host, is kind, friendly and helpful and keeps the cottage well stocked with cupboard staples, cleaning supplies and a welcome tray of cereals, biscuits etc. She is on hand if you need anything, but your privacy is assured at all times. Marlene also provided great recommendations on walks and places to go nearby.
We throroughly enjoyed our stay at The Wood and were very comfortable there - whether sitting out at the back of the cottage gazing out over lovely views on a sunny day or cosying up around the fire on chillier nights. Highly recommended!

North Yorkshire weekend break.
The Wood cottage is located centrally between Scarborough and Whitby.
The cottage is nicely presented with a spacious lounge and walk through kitchen to a dining room which overlooks the surrounding countryside.
Spacious twin bedroom and a double provide comfy sleeping accommodation.
An open fire is a nice feature to warm a cold evening. Although the gas central heating is extremely efficient and quick warms the cottage.
Wifi is available in the kitchen, dining room and lounge. Parking is to the side of the cottage down a steep driveway onto a gravel area which can accommodate 2 vehicles easily.
An enjoyable weekend in a warm and cosy cottage.

A lovely cottage which was clean and tidy with lots of quaint features. There were far reaching views over fields. Positioned in an ideal location for touring around North and East Yorkshire. We would like to return with my family and grandchildren.

A lovely cottage in a beautiful location. It was very well equipped and had everything a family would need. It was nice to return to the quiet of the cottage after a day out. We hope to be back. Very happy to recommend this gem of a place.
