Stay well clear!!!!! Well we?re do I start I totally agree with this person from May 2019 I seriously wouldn?t go near this cottage so many problems with this place no maintenance has been done!! Totally false advertising when you look at the picture there no electric over heads well there is!! All you hear is constant humming infact sounds like a jet engine all the time!! It?s says it child friendly NO it isn?t open stairs no safety gates have been replaced!! No fire extinguisher!! Even the fire blanket dated to 1997!! Wow breaking the fire regulations there! I was absolutely disgusting when I saw the cot on top on the landing the cot was right next to the wobbly bannister were my baby boy could of pulled himself up and gone over to a big drop!! There is a big gap between the bannister where my boy could of fallen through and the stairs are all open at the back!! I had to put the cot down stairs as I couldn?t put my family up stairs due to the damp and mold the main bathroom upstairs needed a lot of work down stairs had hot water up stairs none omg this place has so many problems needs to be condemned!! This holiday cottage shouldn?t be rented out If you look on Sykes cottages sight about this place nothing has been done and Sykes are still taking booking for this cottage absolutely disgusted won?t be using Sykes again nearly ?700.00 on a crap holiday cottage which totally ruined our holiday the owners and Sykes should be ashamed of themselves!!!! False Advertising Do not believe Sykes Cottages with regard to Owl Farmhouse. This cottage is not in the luxury category. The cottage requires maintenance and repairs. The outside area needs to be tidied. Only one small tea towel, no powder or tablets for the dishwasher. The interior needs a thorough cleaning. Very disappointed and angry that these businesses take your money and do not deliver on the product. Rumic 2019-05-18
Owl Farmhouse was lovely and in a great secluded location. The house was well presented and it was a lovely gesture to receive wine and chocolates from our host on arrival. Miss Ocallaghan 2016-01-03
Owl Farmhouse is in a beautiful isolated location and perfect for families of 4 to 8 and close to most of the major attractions.10/10!! Mr Jenkins 2015-10-12
Perfect base for exploring North Wales Owl Farmhouse is in a beautiful, fairly isolated location which adds to the charm of the house and is a perfect family retreat after long days exploring the many and varied attractions in North Wales.
Facilities at the house were excellent - it's even got a sauna!
Kitchen has everything you need for self-catering with the sort of equipment you would buy for your own use as opposed to cheap kit you normally expect to find in a holiday rental!
Beds were comfortable although the sofa bed in the separate lounge was quite firm.
x3 log burners - perfect for that country feeling when they are lit - could do with a fresh batch of logs as the existing are just rotting wood and don't burn like fresh logs.
Gardens are nicely landscaped with a nice garden house overlooking the country-side.
We used this as a base to visit 'zip-world' (velocity & titan which are about 12mls apart) Access to Caenarfon, Anglesey, Llanberris, Snowdon etc all very easy.
I would recommend checking the route to Owl Farmhouse on Google maps, dropping the yellow fella on to the road just outside Rhosgadfan, to make yourself familiar with the junction close to the turning for the house. When you turn off on to the track it looks like you're heading in to fields but this is soon forgotten when you arrive - perfect!! John J 2015-10-12
