The area holds beaches, castles, bustling towns and quaint villages, as well as a theme park, museums and plenty of wonderful walking. The Maples makes a superb year-round retreat.

We walked in and the place sparkled! Everything was luxurious and came with mod cons and the people that run the place were great. I didn't want to leave feedback as I wanted to keep the place as secret as possible! It's paradise and so difficult to explain, you need to see it to believe the magic that came with the visit. More than 5 stars and will be back!

The lodge exceeded expectations set by pictures and description and had everything plus more to meet our requirements.

The Maples is a fantastic lodge, in beautiful quiet surroundings. Everything was so clean, warm and comfortable. Excellent beds, nice linen, fantastic hot and powerful shower. Well equipped. Everything you could possibly need for a lovely , relaxing holiday. Friendly, helpful caretakers. Hot tub was fantastic and much appreciated at the end of the day after a lot of walking.

Luxary Lodge with everything; countryside location, quietness, nearby quaint village.
Every other review gave 5 *'s and I would wholeheartedly agree with all the previous positive comments. I would just however list the following issues which if the Owner addresses, would make this Luxury Lodge just perfect; 1] My wife and myself like our space and we therefore always choose 2 or 3 bedroom Accommodations whenever we go on holiday. But at this Lodge, the Owner only provides Bed Linen and Towels for the number of guests on the booking. If we book and pay for a 2 Bedroom Lodge, we expect the quota of Towels and Bed Linen to match the number of guests that the Lodge can accommodate. 2] The Wi Fi was abominable. It was so bad, that it was not worth using. 3] The Patio Set was a joke for a Luxury Lodge; the diameter of the Table was so small that it could in no way accommodate 4 persons and the lack of cushions meant that sitting on the Hardwood chairs was most uncomfortable. 4] Although the Bedrooms had fittings for the connection of TV's, the Owners had removed the TV's from the Bedrooms of this Luxury Lodge. In spite of the above shortcomings, we would return to this Luxury Lodge, which is set in the most peaceful and beautiful countryside setting imaginable. If I read that the Owner has addressed the issues raised, I would happily add the 5th star.

A really lovely property, and so peaceful.
