I would definitely book it again
We would have no hesitation in recommending Morvich Cottage. It was clean, cosy and comfortable. It was probably the most pleasantly furnished place we?ve ever rented with views of the loch from the sofa. The photos and description are an accurate representation of the cottage and Fort William. You get to the cottage up a very steep drive with a sharp right-hand turn at the top and then drive past the adjacent property to the parking area. On arrival, our first impressions were a bit disappointing. The outside of the property is not very welcoming; quite plain with no flowers or shrubs, just weeds, and although the windows were clean the frames were covered in cobwebs. The bench outside, under the living room window, hadn?t seen a coat of paint for a long time and looked bit rickety. Fortunately, this sad first impression was replaced with a happy one when we went inside. The kitchen had everything we needed, the living room had plenty of comfortable seating and the bedrooms had decent sized beds and were not cramped. It was just as it was advertised on the website. Even in the best places, there are sometimes things that niggle. Some can be put right and some can?t. I hope this can be seen as constructive criticism when I mention a few. Once I got into bed I had a comfortable night's sleep, but the mattress was so soft, especially at the edges where it just collapsed. I nearly fell out of bed once when I got too close to the edge and the mattress gave way. After the first night we stopped using the en suite bathroom just before going to bed, and during the night, because it has an extractor fan that runs on for at least half an hour after the light is switched off and is quite loud and irritating. We made use of the washing machine and used the ?economy? wash which went on for about three hours. Between the extractors and the washing machine, I?m sure the electricity usage could be reduced. Lastly, it would have been nice to be able to sit outside on a solid bench surrounded by a few pots, full of flowers or shrubs, overlooking the loch. If we were to go back to Fort William I definitely would book this cottage again and if it wasn?t for our first impression and the few niggles I would give it five stars for everything.

Lovely stay on the loch
We had a lovely stay in Movich Cottage during some wild weather in Fort William. The cottage was cool in the day but really caught the heat in the evening, which wasn't great for sleeping but you would have had that anywhere in the country. It's a nice short walk away from Fort William town centre (5 min drive) but there isn't a great deal to see in Fort William so you really are best taking your car so you can venture to Ben Nevis or beyond. Our only small gripes with the cottage were that the bathroom smelt of cigarettes, an odour that never went despite our best efforts, and the guests from the local B&B occasionally tried to take the parking. Other than that it we couldn't fault it.

A lovely cottage with a beautiful view and setting. On arrival the cottage was in immaculate condition.
