Very poor cottage We stayed here from 14th Aug. This could be a lovely cottage. It is quirky and interesting, but when we visited it was not clean and definitely falling into disrepair. The front door had the paint coming off and did not even lock until I pointed it out. We had to wait a couple of hours for towels and tea towels. The cottage was very damp with black mold in lounge and bedroom, paint peeling and blistered in lounge from damp. It was dusty and loads of cobwebs and spiders. I had to ask to borrow a vacuum to get rid of them, as no cleaning equipment was provided. There were a lot of cobwebs that had been there for weeks. The mattress had no protector and had stains. The bedding was very poor quality, holes in duvet, and sheet. Only hanging space in whole cottage was a cheap dress rail in upstairs bedroom. No hooks in bedrooms, bathrooms or hall, nowhere for wet coats. Bathrooms lacked basic equipment, shelves, toilet roll holder somewhere for towels. No banister rail, despite previous guests saying they had nearly fallen down stairs. Bathroom handle in wet room, which had stained and moldy grouting, would come off in your hands, my friend got stuck in there. Very old TV difficult to work. No instructions for anything. No shelves in oven only grill tray. I have visited many cottages and this is bad. This is a recent review and on Sykes who are the booking agent the only other review I can find for this year is not good. Beware of older ones, they have not kept this cottage up together. The outside was overgrown and no patio table. Windows to downstairs bedroom got little light due to area outside being very overgrown. I am sorry to have to post a negative review but hopefully they will listen and do the necessary to turn this into a clean and comfortable cottage. Jackie M 2018-08-18
Best night sleep ever Clean, comfortable and a great place to holiday with a family, we really enjoyed and had a great welcome from the owners who was only too pleased to go the extra mile for us. GlampingWales 2017-05-17
Y Gegin Foch is a lovely cottage with bags of character. A really tasteful conversion of a former piggery set in the beautiful landscape of the Llyn Peninsula. We stayed there for a week and had a lovely time. There were lots of places to visit, with the cottage being perfectly located and an excellent base to return to for cosy nights in by the log burner. We hope to return to this cottage again soon. Mrs Gregson 2015-06-14
