Beautiful and comfortable highly recommend!!
I had such a fantastic holiday. The barn itself is really cosy, and really well equipped. Had all the kitchen utensils you would need, comfy sofas with lots of spare soft blankets to cuddle up under in the evening, there was tea, sugar and milk packets in the fridge when we arrived and the heating was already on, which was really nice to walk into. They had set out clean towels on every bed, and put hand wash in the bathrooms. Hot water stayed hot even after a few long showers, lovely water fall shower head! They have plenty of books, leaflets and A few board games to play under the downstairs lounge table, a notice board with all the nearest supermarkets, bars and resteraunts, And free WiFi. It?s a beautiful location and only an hour away from the lakes. We found a great website called walklakes.com which has step by step routes, really handy!! It?s on a working farm but you barely hear a sound from them apart from the odd mooing from the cows every so often, which I absolutely loved as a reminder of where you are. Sykes cottages is who we booked it through, and they were sooo helpful, we had to change our dates and they couldn?t have been more accommodating. Really friendly and helpful staff. I will definitely be using them again!!! Thank you for an all round wonderful holiday. Tia.

Beautiful place to stay
We came here as a 'mini-honeymoon' and we were impressed from the outset. The heating was already on which was a nice touch. The place has a incredibly homely feel too it. The whole cottage was clean and tidy and ready to go. You're in the middle of nowhere and because of that, the views are absolutely breathtaking. The cottages are situated within a working farm but there was no tractor traffic and the local people were really friendly. We took our two dogs with us and they loved it. I'd suggest this to anyone who fancies a break without the madness of town/city life or people who want to witness the beauty of the Lake District as it's perfectly placed so that it's only a short drive to several beautiful locations.

Had a lovely relaxing few days at Sycamore Barn celebrating my mum's birthday. The owner has thought of everything - a proper home from home! The barn is well equipped and there was plenty of space for all 7 of us. Great location for exploring the stunning surrounding countryside - would definitely recommend!
