Woodland Walk, Aros Experience
Woodland Walk, Aros Experience

This modern museum, cultural venue, and shopping complex on the southern edge of Portree gives visitors a glimpse into the history, of Skye, the traditional way of life on the island, and the Gaelic language.

There is a little bit of everything at Aros; from a regular programme of cultural events including cinema, dance, opera, music, lectures, and drama, to dance workshops. Shops sell local arts and crafts with a genuine Skye flavour, as well as more general Scottish gifts.

Beside the main building is a woodland area, with trails leading uphill through attractive woodland, with quiet streams running through the woods. This is a beautiful place to spend some time in nature, and hear the sounds of the woodland animals and birds.
