Disappointing stay.
We stayed here for a week as returning guests in March. Holly house is a beautiful spacious house with lovely views across the mountains.
We had a few hiccups last year but the owner came and sorted them quickly and we were able to carry on and enjoy our holiday.
This year however was a different story! Shortly after arrival i needed to use the washing machine, I have never seen anything in such as state. The draw for the washing powder was Mouldy. I scrubbed it clean and carried on. Next was sorting out some supper, to find the pans and baking trays filthy dirty. The oven was hanging in grease, there was fat on the sides of the cupboards from the previous people's cooking. The chopping boards smelt horrendous, so much so that we went out and bought our own the next day.
The dining table legs were very loose it was wobbling everywhere, the fireplace was leaking water and the wood burner going rusty (from the rain water coming in)
We contacted the owner straight away the voice our dissatisfaction and her reply was she hadn?t had any other complaints.
It is such a shame because the house and setting is beautiful but sadly we will not return. Due to the cleanliness of the house.
I complained to Sykes cottages and they contacted the owner who gave us back £50.00.
For a house at premium price we were very disappointed.

A fabulous house in a wonderful setting
We stayed at Holly House this week with friends and family. It is a truly beautiful house which is immaculate and extremely clean. It is well equipped and the views from the house are stunning. Set in a wonderful part of Scotland near to Fort William and the Nevis range. We also had a trip to Inverness. Al the party loved our holiday and we cannot wait to go back. Norma the owner was very helpful and easy to contact. Thank you so much.
