Beautiful Cottage in a lovely town
Beautifully furnished with everything you could want for a comfortable stay. The kitchen was large with all the amenities, and the cosy living room had a very easy to use log burner. The two bedrooms are large and the beds are extremely comfortable, and decorated in soft shades to help you to relax. As for the bathroom, it is modern, ligh,t and has a separate bath and shower, and the underfloor heating makes it comfortable to walk on the stone tiles. Just short of a shaving mirror. There is also a downstairs loo. Outside, there is a quaint sitting area, ?underneath the arch?, with outdoor table and chairs, lighting and a chimea. There was some noise which seemed to come from above the back bedroom, the cottage is attached to what appears to be a large building, and there was sometimes the sound of furniture or something being dragged across the floor, and someone singing! This happened through the day, and on a couple of occasions, very early in the morning, one time at around 5am. There is lots to do in the area, Richmond Castle for one, only open at the weekends at the moment, until February, the Green Howard Museum, lots of restaurants too. We ate at Rustique, wonderful, Alessandro?s also wonderful, but very quiet, I think due to it being around bonfire night, people were elsewhere, and at The Taj Mahal, which is not the prettiest of restaurants, but the food was wonderful. Overall, I would recommend No. 2 The Bar, and we hope to return ourselves.

Fantastic cottage in a superb location
We had a wonderful weeks' stay in this lovely cottage. It is in an ideal location - just off of the market square, so close to all the shops, pubs, restaurants etc., yet in a very quiet spot. The cottage itself is very spacious and very well equipped - the kitchen had every possible modern appliance, and the TVs with built in You Tube were very popular and helped us plan our walk from Muker to Keld! Not sure how long the cottage has been a holiday rental, but it felt like we were the first people to stay here. We travelled to Richmond by train/bus, so can't comment on the parking issues which some visitors seem to have raised (the owner does make visitors aware of this). We were able to travel to all the places on our 'to-do' list by bus - including Muker (from where we did the circular walk to Keld and back to Muker), Middleham Castle, Jervaulx Abbey and Barnard Castle)
