This end terraced cottage is located in the village of Allithwaite near Grange-over-Sands and can sleep six people in three bedrooms.

Summer Cottage is an end-terraced cottage in the Lakeland village of Allithwaite near to Grange-over-Sands. The cottage sleeps six people and has one double bedroom, one twin, one with bunk beds and two family bathrooms. The cottage also has a fitted kitchen with a dining area and a sitting room with an open fire. Outside the cottage is off road parking for two cars and garden with outdoor furniture and a barbecue. With superb views and the beautiful Lakes countryside all around, Summer Cottage is a lovely family holiday home.

Summer Cottage is tucked away in a secluded spot, yet only 5 minutes walk to the excellent Pheasant Inn. The cottage has recently been tastefully refurbished and has everything one could ask. We spent several evenings sitting in the garden and watching the water shrews in the stream. Humphrey Head is with easy walking distance for superb views over Morecambe Bay. Kents Bank Station is also within 20 minutes walk should you wish to use the spectacularly scenic Furness Line (highly recommended). Further in land is the gorgeous village of Cartmel with two Simon Rogan establishments, a microbrewery, an excellent wine bar, several pubs and an excellent cheese shop. I have seldom stayed anywhere so peaceful.

I'd stay again
A nice cottage in a very peaceful setting. Everything you need, but compact to the point of slightly cramped, if you're tall you will be bumping your head on the light fittings, eaves, cooker hood, bathroom cabinet etc! The accommodation is spread across three floors with two bathrooms, the ground floor has the shower so there's two flight of stairs to contend with if you want a shower but it is a good powerful one. Open fire in living area (take your own logs etc.) and effective central heating. Kitchen is well equipped, if a little dated, beds very comfortable, babbling brook at the end of the small garden is a nice touch. There's parking, but if you've two cars this will test your skills! Decent sized TVs and good wifi. Overall a good find and we are looking forward to visiting again.

Extremely disappointed.
Where do I begin. When we arrived at this quiet location our first impression from the outside was it was very small, compact, tight parking spot and very muddy. We entered to find the kitchen on the left was very dull and in desperate need of updating. Sink area and worktop had black mold around and very heavily stained which could not be removed. Outdated kitchen cutlery and utensils. Outside was appalling. SCAFFOLDING in the back garden, which took up a quarter of the back garden. Dirty patio, fence needed painting, the blue form in the advertising picture was absolutely filthy (under an overgrown tree) in the back garden, BBQ was filthy and hadn't been used for years (rusty). When we did try and sit out we got wet as constant dripping from the plastic corrugated roofing. Bushes and tree needed cutting back, hardly a garden to sit in. Stream was lovely but picture makes it look far bigger than it actually is. The grassed area looks part of your garden and accessible but beware it is not. Waste bin completely FULL on arrival, expected it to be removed later that day, but it was not. Drinks coasters needed wiping, zip was broken on the settee cover. Beds extremely comfy and bedding lovely. We went home after 3 days and bins still not emptied. ONE WEEKS RENT WOULD RESOLVE MOST PROBLEMS.

The cottage had all we needed, and was very clean and cosy.

A lovely quiet place. It is a big cottage in a lovely location, close to a pub and the fireplace was great. The owner of the cottage was really helpful.
