Lovely cottage, amazing views
Stayed here for a week in September. Lovely cottage and great base for the South Lakes area. The cottage has a large kitchen/diner which is incredibly well equipped, the owners really have thought of everything, cozy bedroom and first floor living room with the most amazing views. Great info folder too with details of local walks. Only negative point is the small fridge, we like to cook and it was a struggle fitting everything in though there is a pantry. We would definitely book again.

Fantastic month in Lake District
We have had a marvellous month at ?The Barn?. The views from the lounge were superb. To watch the sun going down over the Coniston Range is a lasting memory. We travelled up and down the lakes over during the month and it always felt great to come back to ?The Barn?. Even on the days when it was just too bad to go out, the days just flew by. The owners are just wonderful. ?The Barn? makes a great base, close enough to all of the Lake District landmarks, but far enough away from the hordes of tourists at places like Ambleside. It is also close enough to pop across the border into Yorkshire Dales. It even has two pubs within walking distance at Sparks Bridge.

The location and views from the lounge were excellent. We had everything we needed for a lovely holiday in a clean cosy cottage. The owner could not have been more friendly and helpful. We would love to come again and I have already recommended The Barn and given details to a friend!

great views
We stayed the week before Christmas. The accommodation is lovely and warm with stunning views. It was great value for money and the owner was really good to us. You can see the coniston fells from the master bedroom and nice undulating hills from the front room. All the lakes attractions easily accessible from the barn but far away enough from busy spots. Situated up a lane of the main road so no through traffic. Woods and hills all around too. A few pubs just down the road too. Would recommend.
