Lovely holiday house in Criccieth, Llyn Peninsula. Balcony with amazing views! Beautiful gardens with BBQ area. TV, woodburning stove.

Beach and amenities 10 minute walk.

Swn Y Gwynt is all about the setting! Sweeping views across Cardigan Bay with the back drop of mountains and over to Harlech Castle. This lovely holiday cottage is owned by a Dutch family who have refurbished it to a high standard whilst retaining the original charm. "A superbly located cottage, fantastic views, well equipped and excellent facilities nearby to keep you entertained and amused!" The house is an 'upside down' house, making the most of the spectacular sea views.

The open plan sitting room is surrounded by a balcony - open the door and bring the outside in and while away the hours watching the sun setting over the bay.Beautiful gardens surround the house where you can relax and enjoy the peace and scenery from the raised seating area. The sea views at the front and the open fields all around make this a wonderful place to relax with friends or family.

It is so convenient as you can pop down to the beach and the town of Criccieth for a bit of hustle and bustle. You can wander around the quirky shops, dine out in one of the restaurants - we like Tir a Mor - or have an evening pint in the pub. Take a night off from cooking and try the fish and chips - they are excellent!

Disappointing
We've just returned from a one week stay at this house but I have to say the pictures certainly don't do it justice!! The property is certainly a lot older and in need of updating than the glossy pictures show!! On our arrival we were greeted with a fridge which had no handle (it was placed on top) and a dishwasher full of dishes which fortunately were actually clean! When contacting the local agent she explained she was aware of the damage and would pop around and pick it up however Emma did not appear during the course of our weeks holiday!! The decor has numerous cracks, stains and in places clearly in need of repair! The window in the dining area also has a double glazed unit which has blown and looks pretty unsightly!! The grey paint on the upper terrace was a constant problem as it flakes off and easily walked into the house!!!! There were also other little bugbears such as a burnt match on the windowsill in the bathroom and a part bag of frozen chips left in the freezer!!! We actually left the cottage cleaner than we found it so if it's a luxury house your looking for then this isn?t for you.!!! The location however is superb and the views across to Harlech amazing even in stormy weather. An honest review from someone who has stayed in many houses/cottages would be a great location with fantastic views however the price does not reflect the quality of the accommodation or the cleanliness! The choice is yours!!
