Dorfold Hall is a Jacobean mansion built in 1616 for Ralph Wilbraham and finished in 1621. The interiors retain their original oak panelling and plaster ceilings.
Of particular note is the state Drawing Room, which features a barrel-vaulted ceiling with highly decorative strapwork and plaster pendants.
The house was built on the site of an earlier manor house about which little is known save that it dated to the 13th century.
The current Hall stands two storeys high and is topped by a slate roof. The Hall is set in lovely gardens, including woodland walks and pretty herbaceous borders.
