Within the modern Brooks Shopping Centre in central Winchester is this award-winning historic display depicting life in Roman and Medieval Winchester. Through audio and video exhibits and dioramas depicting scenes from Winchester's past, shoppers can explore the colourful history of the area. The displays are based on actual excavated remains, and are as accurate a portrayal of historic Winchester as possible.
The name "Brooks" refers to the ancient watercourses than now run beneath downtown Winchester. The name has been in existence since the 16th century.
