Brixworth is a large village just off the A508 between Northampton and Market Harborough. The older areas of the village have a number of very attractive cottages built of local ironstone. By far the most interesting historic building in Brixworth is the parish church, dedicated to All Saints.

The church was built around AD 680 by monks from Peterborough, and it is the largest Saxon building in England. Within the church is an unusual 14th-century stone reliquary and a carved Saxon figure of an eagle.

A short stroll from the church is the Heritage Centre, where the Friends of All Saints Church Brixworth maintain a centre for local studies, including archaeological records of finds, old photographs, and artefacts discovered in the church.

Brixworth is very well placed to visit several stately homes, for which Northamptonshire is justly famous. Lamport Hall, Holdenby House, and Cottesbrooke Hall and Gardens are all within 4 miles of the village.
