This grand, spacious property is a three storey period detached property, centrally situated in the village of Bempton and sleeping up to 14 people.

This former manor house is a magnificent period property and has retained many of its original features, keeping much of its character. The four spacious bedrooms are tastefully furnished and decorated, with two boasting en-suite facilities, and there is a further spacious and luxurious bathroom with a separate shower. The large, well-equipped kitchen has a breakfast bar and a dining area in the generous sitting room.

This elegant room has the original oak fireplace and an open fire. A smaller sitting room houses a home movie system, with a capacious conservatory leading into a delightful enclosed garden. This property really does have all the ingredients for the perfect holiday situated between the coast and the glorious North Yorkshire Moors for a large family gathering or a group of friends.

Spacious cottage for large group and secure garden
Just come back from a week at Walmsley House. The property has got loads of space downstairs allowing a group to be in different spaces at any one time. The garden was secure which was good. The setting is ideal for lots of amenities and the favourite for our group was North Beach at Bridlington. The House has loads of DVD's and books to help the unwinding process.

Fabulous place for family gathering
We had a wonderful 3 night stay at Walmsley House. The house is ideal for family gatherings - big spacious rooms and a beautiful garden for people to congregate in. One night we cuddled up in the snug for a dvd, the next we gathered around an enormous dining room table for board games and the final night we soaked up the evening sun in the conservatory with a glass of wine. The owners were quick to respond to any questions we had before and during our stay. We enjoyed a walk out to Bempton cliffs, a day trip to Bridlington and a yummy take away from The White Horse Inn over the road. The house has some quirks but bare in mind that it is an old building and for many this will add to the charm. It is well equipped with cutlery, crockery and glasses plus board games, DVDs and games for children. We took our dog and she enjoyed the stay (especially the garden) as much as we did.

Perfect for family get-togethers. . .
Although the house is spacious, it manages to retain a real homely feel. Despite its considerable age, there are no dark corners anywhere. (Not a shiver or a single heebie-jeebie in sight, in fact - not even for our hyper-imaginative daughter!) We all slept extremely well indeed. After a long day out in the fresh air, Walmsley is such a welcoming place to come home to. The large secure garden is an added bonus, especially for our dogs! Yes, for sure, the house has its quirks, but they only made us love it even more. In short, all the other positive reviews are true. (Why else would people return to Walmsley time and again?) As for us, we can't wait to go back!

Perfect for a family holiday
We returned to Walmsley House after previously staying there in September 2012. Yet again Walmsley House did not disappoint. The garden has massively improved since our last stay and is perfect for enjoying the sun with a large solid wood table, comfy reclining sun beds and a fire pit which we didn?t get round to using but we thought was a lovely addition. The house itself is full of character and in such a beautiful location. We found it well equipped for our stay with toys for the children and a large selection of family games and there were plenty of room for all of the different generations to spread out and have their own space, there is also a pub over the road that is perfect for if you fancy going out but not wanting to go too far. Walmsley House is full of history which is something that we did enjoy looking into while we were there. There is a good housekeeping bond to be paid but we had no issues with this and can see why this is requested. We are sure that we will be returning to Walmsley House I?m the future. Thank you again Anna and Simon for sharing your beautiful house!

Just what we wanted
We stayed here in a big three-generation family group over the May half-term holiday week. It suited us perfectly. It's a big old house with some quirks, but with a homely feel to it and we all enjoyed our holiday. Plenty of space for the children to run around outside, and plenty of things to amuse them indoors too. Better equipped than other self-catering properties we have rented. The pub opposite is very friendly and serves excellent local real ale and good "pub grub" style food. To cap it all, it's walking distance from the wonderful Bempton cliffs with their incredible seabird population. (Well, most of us walked - it was a bit too far for the 16-month-old!)
