Didn't want to go home
We stayed for a week in Dandy Lodge apartment, we wish it could have been longer. There are 4 apartments in this converted barn and they are all finished and decorated to a high standard. There are 4 coat hooks on the wall as you walk and plenty of space for your clothes and belongings, a fully equipped kitchen complete with washer and dishwasher plus iron and mini ironing board, I found a hairdryer and all the equipment manuals in bedside drawers. The walk in shower with both a rainforest and normal shower head was brilliant, the bed was comfy, you could stay in bed and watch the large screen tv if you wanted or just lounge on the settee. Plenty of plug sockets, some with USB ports. There is an site shop and a fantastic bar bistro which we highly recommend, the chef is brilliant and we spent far more time in there than we intended, the owner Ian, bar manager Carlton and all the staff are so helpful and even though we are all being COVID safe they still made it friendly and relaxing. If you have any food allergies don't be worried about asking, plenty of options. This spot is an ideal base for trips to the Lake District or Scotland but the local area is gorgeous too. It was lovely to have a day out and come back to this place, It's an ideal base for cyclists, walkers and ramblers too. Watch out for the chickens just roaming around, we knew we were back from a trip out when we saw them wandering across the road as we got close. We cannot wait to go back, we drove 3 hours to get here but I will be booking again asap. The apartment photos were taken on the day we left, it still looks good after we had made it our home for a week.

Totally relaxing in a beautiful area
We absolutely loved it here, the area is beautiful. Excellent location in itself and a perfect base for days out to the Lake District or Scotland. The apartment has absolutely everything you need and is very nicely finished and furnished so even though you might be booking this as a place to sleep, you will more than likely just spend a day in it relaxing like we did. There is an on site gym and a shop, the on site bar bistro is very welcoming and friendly, the beer is lovely and cold and the food is fantastic, there are a couple of other pubs in the village but the locals seemed to pop in here. The area is popular with cyclists, walkers and ramblers and we saw a few popping in for a coffee and a snack. As this village is right on the estuary we also saw a lot of fishing too as we drove around. Everyone says hello and it's just a really friendly place. I struggle a little with mobility but found everything easily accessible including the bar bistro. No big steps or heavy doors. For anyone with food allergies a lot of the menu was gluten free plus there are vegan options too. The owner Ian was really approachable and down to earth, he is always somewhere around. The bar manager Carlton and all the staff were so friendly and really looked after us, we cannot wait to go again.
