It's all about the view!
Circumstances dictated that this was to be a car-free week, so we were very pleased to have Kent Bank station within 10 minutes walk! We had a really lovely week visiting Leighton Moss RSPB reserve, Cartmel, Holker Hall, Leighton Hall, Ulverston & Carnforth (just for the Brief Encounter experience!), using trains and the extremely limited bus service. Not to mention the gorgeous walk along the Promenade from Kent's Bank to Grange-over-Sands. And, of course, the beautiful weather helped... The large and light apartment is one of several in the building and is accessed by lots of stairs - bedrooms on the 2nd floor, everything else on the 1st. The "garden" is a paved yard up yet more steps. The views are truly spectacular from the sitting room and main bedroom. We loved sitting in the window watching the ever-changing tides - and the bats! Furniture and furnishings were a bit mixed; some lovely art and a comfortable bed, but also a few things which should be retired. All the basics were there, but given all that space, surely there's room for a dishwasher in the kitchen and an extra toilet or shower room with the bedrooms. I don't mean to sound negative. This apartment makes a very good base for the South Lakes and Morecambe Bay area and we would happily stay here again. In fact, we didn't want to leave...

Fabulous location
Stayed for a week in Dunlins and had a fabulous time...the apartment was extremely comfortable and spacious...it was well equipped and probably the cleanest accommodation we have ever stayed in. 5 mins walk to the station with frequent trains to Carlisle or Lancaster...easy flat walk into town ...

The amazing property views welcome you.
Stayed here with my adult son for a week. Spacious well equipped property. Good fridge freezer, radio in kitchen, comfortable beds. Best rooms had the amazing view. Kents Bank station just down the road and footpath just to right across road which leads onto promenade and eventually to town. The trains are particularly handy if like us you do not drive. They seem to run about every hour also the circular bus. Best to arm yourself with timetables and there are some in property and at Grange. I had a great week ,Holker hall garden festival, Ulverston music festival at Coronation Hall Theatre two nights jazz and opera, Levens Hall with topiary gardens, Cartmel village with Priory, brewery and carriage rides plus great food shops and restaurants, Steam Engine ride near Newby together with visit to aquarium and boat trip on lake windermere on one afternoon. I could go on and on... Taxis need to be booked well in advance as they are really busy. Some don't work at weekends and some not in the morning. I enjoyed the views the best. Would have liked ensuite bathroom.

Excellent accommodation which was very relaxing, comfortable and with great sea views. The owners were helpful and went out of their way to make sure everything was to our satisfaction. Would definitely stay again and we would have no problem in recommending Dunlins to our friends.

We have now stayed here six years in a row so that speaks for itself! We enjoy the views and the relaxed nature of the area. A delightful combination and evocation of holidays as they used to be!
