The cottage was like home from home. We could not fault anything; location was excellent and the local butchers and pub were top notch. A very comfortable, enjoyable week with lots to do and see within a short distance of the cottage. Thank you so much for letting your cottage. We will definitely return and recommend. Because of the time of year the weather wasn't brilliant even so,it was lovely to get back to Brookley Cottage as it was cosy and warm. We were situated within easy reach of all our destinations which was great for us. The standard of the cottage was excellent. Mrs Woodcock 2016-02-07
Cosy & Dog friendly My best friend Karen & I, & our doggies visited this cottage in October.
Arrived to a lovely warm cottage. within an hour of arriving, we received a welcome call from the owner, welcoming us & giving us contacts if we should experience any problems.
Also a vase of fresh flowers, which was lovely.
Weve stayed at other places in this area before, & this is the best so far. We had our own private yard, so at night time we could just open the door to let the dogs out. It was lovely to sit in the yard in the crisp autumn afternoon too, there are a lovely set of table & chairs & its a right little sun trap.
The property inside is lovely too. Its home from home. A lovely big farmhouse kitchen & a cosy living room. After walking the dogs everyday we cooked most nights, its short of nothing, theres no stone left unturned. Theres even dvds & books if your bored. Theres lots of little finishing touches aswell that you don't normally get in holiday homes, candles, plug in air freshners. Theres a lovely bathroom upstairs & two bedrooms. The beds are the best weve ever slept in on holiday, really comfortable & the bedding is fresh cotton, matching throws & curtains. I could live there.
We liked the location as its not far from Whitby, Sandsend, Runswick Bay & Saltburn. All of these have fantastic beaches that you can take your dogs too at this time of the year. We took a trip on the North Yorkshire Moors steam railway too, which is very close & you have to experience. We parked & got on at Grosmont, which is 10 mins away & went to Pickering.
This cottage is at the end of a little lane, we loved the privacy. And right out of the back door is a woodland trail, which we followed even further with the dogs & ended up quite a way out, a cracking walk. I would like to thank the owners very much for one thing though. The rules stipulate that you are allowed to take two dogs (as are most cottages) we have three small doggies, we rang beforehand & asked for permission to take three & it was no problem. And what a bonus, it had wi fi, which isn't mentioned.
Fantastic place, accommodating owners. Definitely going back & definitely recommend. Vikki J 2015-10-23

The cottage was really pretty and in a lovely quiet location. The close proximity to lovely walks and stream were an added bonus for our two grandchildren and little dog. The local pub offered good meals at reasonable prices. We were able to easily visit Whitby, Sandsend and Runswick Bay. A super holiday enjoyed by all. Mrs Oakley 2015-08-15
