Fantastic views and location.....
This is such a remarkable spot. Fantastic views over the lake and peaceful. Just what we all needed. The rooms and layout are spotless and inviting with high spec amenities. It?s a place we would definitely visit again....and that?s after only our first night here! Only yards from the ferry as well, which is great but does lead to the one and only criticism. The queue for the ferry can tail back past the allocated parking spaces for the complex. The ?keep clear? sign on the road is almost completely faded. The inconvenience is really only temporary to be fair, but I can imagine during peak periods it could be an irritation. My only recommendation would be for the Council to re-paint the ?keep clear? sign on the road, or paint a yellow grid area to make things obvious. Would definitely come again though.

A gem in the Lake District - Lund Cottage
Lund cottage on the banks of Lake Windermere far exceeded our expectations. An outstanding spacious cottage in an amazing location... what?s not to like. The pictures look great on the booking site, but once in, you realise Lund is that little more special than most cottages. Modern, bright, a brilliant aspect looking north up the lake with the water right under the balcony feet away. Every window is filled with picturesque lake views and a natural beauty to simply enjoy. Of all the places we have stayed in the Lakes, this one is at the top, with the with clean modern well maintained rooms, and a large balcony that makes you want to sit out morning and night to soak up the views. Because of the location you can either catch a ferry across to Bowness and beyond or simple walk around to the Victorian viewing station or walk along the lake side up to Wray Castle. Lund has 2 parking spaces right out side the door.. great for unpacking, or getting in the car to drive straight on the ferry, just 100 yards away. The beds were comfortable, and all faced the lake and there was a spectacular picture window at the top of the landing which took our breath away. The downstairs bedroom with french doors - onto the balcony was a big plus but every room was stunning, and the showers were all large with every room. This with a beautiful living area, was perfect, just to see the world go past on water, be it boats or a variety of wildlife. Finally, there was a really nice welcome pack of local produce, and a bottle of milk in the fridge delivered the day of arrival, which was a nice touch. Overall I have to say this is a wonderful cottage and well worth booking for the feel of the place when you are in it, and the location and ease of getting around the lakes and beyond with lovely walks on hand, literally straight out of the door. It?s position location and Lund cottage is second to none. It?s a 10 out of 10.
