Well where to start, booked a 10 night stay at just over £200 per night, normally when booking through Sykes cottages you get the key code a few days ahead of your arrival not here we were outside(after travelling from wales) and after numerous phone calls we eventually got the code to get the key. First impression it looks ok apart from the stained carpet so up we go to the 4th floor to check it out, Tv doesn't work, balcony furniture so rusty and full of cobwebs no one could sit on them without causing an injury to themselves, should be 4 mirror tiles on wall but only 3, rusty old toilet brush , rusty on floor all around it, shower head all clogged up so water went in all directions, blinds on patio doors broken . 3rd floor, 2 bedrooms and a bathroom, toilet seat hanging off, shower controls come off in your hands , only 1 towel each for a 10 night stay, one bedroom no blinds or curtains at all the other room blinds broken slats missing no chance to sleep when the sun comes up, opened patio door came of in my hands hinges missing very dangerous! 2nd floor living area, 2 , 2 seater sofas although it's supposed to be for 6 people, again blinds broken, debris on the floor from previous occupants. Now on to the kitchen, induction hob only 2 rings working! No cooking utensils! No saucepan! no frying pan! ( there was a cooking pot, crepe pan, and a very dirty wok)no glass tumblers only plastic! No tea towels! Knob fell of toaster every time you use it, oven makes so much noise that it's unusable, all this was reported to Sykes the day after we arrived and they contacted the owner who said they would sort it out, 5 days later someone turned up fixed the toilet seat , brought utensils, tea towels and 1 small saucepan, which he had to exchange as it wouldn't work on induction hob! Ratten garden furniture , cushions in shed, bare sponge no covers on them ! Only 1 key for the house which is not good couldn't put it in key safe as the code expired at 9 pm on day of arrival ! No instructions on how to use anything! Good points, comfortable beds ( no mattress protectors ) and very close to beach although no sea views ( factory one side, everyone's garden the other ) this could be such a nice holiday home but the owners don't seem to care about it, at £200 plus a night i was expecting a little more you have been warned !!!!!!!!!
