Fabulous location, ideal facilities but requires pest control & a deep clean.
We visited this property 4th-11th June 2022. My husband, myself, our little boy whos 6 and my elderly father who has to have holiday dialysis 3 times a week which we prebook and usually arrange within a reasonable distance however post covid the nearest dialysis service available was near Bournemouth. We booked this property last year and the property looked just what we would need and it did accommodate us all fine. Well equipped with the usual home comforts and within walking distance to weymouth centre. Which has alot of places to eat out and visit along with things to do however this may depend on the weather for a few. The queen's jubilee weekend was when we arrived so weymouth centre was celebrating like most places to go, things to do and entertainment. Unfortunately the property which I would like to add may not be of fault of anyone in particular, had quite a bad ant, woodlice and insect issue. Each and every day I was constantly cleaning and getting rid of them and I did contact the company itself to inform them as I was quite concerned and wondered if they actually were aware of just how bad the infestation was. The company skyes cottages and dream cottages did take the details, pictures and said they had raised it as an issue. However personally I have to say it did affect my views on the place overall as during each day after cleaning and the amount I'd be getting rid of on a daily basis made me question whether the property had a good deep clean between visitors. Taking into consideration we had to vacate at 10am and that we couldn't have access to the place until 4pm, surely this would give even one person enough time to ensure it was deeply cleaned and my evidence suggests otherwise. The issue of rubbish and a notice above the bin saying we had to discard of it in purple liners as if we didn't we would be liable for charges no purple liners where available or infact on the kitchen bin even OK arrival it only had black bin bags so we even called about this to inform them but this didn't seem to be a massive issue and said we could use black bin bags ensuring no charges would be applied. I don't like to make negative opinions or comments or even making complaints in fact when I called the offices I made that clear as I didn't want to damage anyones business or reputation however it needed to be made clear just how bad the insect infestation was and had to be reported. I am sure this will be sorted and hopefully get actually get acted upon. When you pay ?750 for a week away you expect it to be at least cleaned and as well kept as possible and of not then the passion isn't there and should indeed be questioned. I came away for a holiday but felt like a personal cleaner and daily pest control added to the pressure and to be honest did overall dampen the hoilday experience. It isn't nice nipping the loo in the middle of the night and standing barefoot onto woodlice.... Fingers crossed this is not booked for someone arriving today so it can be deep cleaned and have pest control or someone similar to tackle the issue. Companies who advertise this property can contact me for further pictures and information or even the owners if they wish as I will only share a few of them as I am not out to ruin anyones business or reputation as I am sure the property could be and has no doubt been fabulous for others during other visits but I genuinely like to read reviews which are honest when I consider places to visit and hoildays when booking.

Has nearly everything except a good clean
The cleanliness on arrival had a lot to be desired. The surfaces were Ok, but the floor, mats, cupboards, windows and generally everywhere was lacking even a basic clean. We are asked quite clearly by notices to only put rubbish in the purple bags for disposal in correct wheelie bin. There was no purple bags left anywhere! Also no spare toilet rolls. On arrival, in October, the central heating was 14?c. We are asked to only use the wall mounted thermostat to alter the temperature. This is a "smart" thermostat and as such is pre-programmed. Unfortunately the manual control does not respond. (as noted by previous guests) and the set-point was 7? and dropping! There is a wall mounted electric fan heater for the lounge only. This is so loud you cannot hear TV. Tried phoning agents but the message was that they are busy and the queue was 1 hour+. No chance on a PAYG. The thermostat resumed in the morning, but still no manual control. And so to bathroom, puddle on floor from leaking towel radiator, this stopped when heating did eventually go. The beds were a big improvement, comfortable and clean. The complaints about the WiFi have been addressed as a booster is fitted in main bedroom. We had no problems at all in this respect. The parking seems to have been an issue. The bush preventing no.5 from parking close to it has been cut back. There are spaces for small to medium size cars only. We managed OK as there was no car in space 5 during our stay. However the person exercising their dog in the car park wants to clear it up !!! Comments were previously made regarding the access to shower. Nice large shower and just fine if you can get safely through a 15?" opening. There is a grab handle now fitted. There are loads and loads of entertainment kit supplied including, XBox BluRay, audio system, smart TV, books, CDs. Also kitchen is well equipped. The washer/dryer has been replaced with new but why oh why such a hi Tech one in a holiday let No manual left either. This has also concerned previous guests. Positioned convenient for the town and other amenities, walking is possible but beware there are hills! Sorry this has been, for the most part, a sad story but forewarned is forearmed.
