This is a once in a lifetime experience. Converted from a former railway carriage and based at the former station in Hawsker, this cottage sleeps six people in character accommodation.

This is a holiday cottage like no other. Converted from a railway carriage and based on the old station at Hawsker in North Yorkshire, this cottage has character written all over it. Six people can be accommodated in three bedrooms.

The master double room has an en-suite shower and WC as well as a single chair bed suitable for a child. There is a double, cabin style room (with the bed accessed from one side only) and a twin bunk bed room which is suitable for children, making this the perfect cottage for a family holiday that no child will ever forget. Also within the cottage is a separate shower room with WC and fitted kitchen with breakfast bar.

The sitting room is made up with “first class” railway carriage seats so that you can pretend you are rolling along whilst watching television. If you can bear to tear yourself away from this amazing cottage, then the North Yorkshire Moors are just a few miles drive away as well as the famous old fishing village at Robin Hood's Bay and the historic town of Whitby, making this an incredible holiday for all the family.

Brilliant Location-First time experience in a railway carriage!
The location of this converted railway carriage is situated on the old railway line from Scarborough to Whitby in the village of Hawsker, Robin Hood's bay and Whitby are within minutes of the location. The owner, Keith, also runs a cycle hire business to which those who stay at the coach can hire a range of cycles to suit each individual needs. The cinder track runs along side the coach which riders can use. So moving on, the accommodation sleeps 6, a master on-suite bedroom with double bed, further double bed and bunks. Shower and WC. The kitchen area is well laid out and has a breakfast bar area that can easily accommodate 6 people at eating times. In the main seating area of the coach, Keith (the owner) has left the original seating that you would find on a modern train today. Heating is provided by gas central heating and two Air con units. Keith (The owner) provides towels and bed linen. All in all a great experience. We'll visit again!

Brillianr experience
We found this an exceptional experience. Close to Whitby, right alongside the cycle path and easily accessible. Keith, the owner, was great, fitting us out with bikes to ride (including an electric bike)-offering advice about where to go. He was a star and so relaxed about everything. The conversion is excellent with an en-suite double room, another double room and two bunk beds. We thoroughly enjoyed the first class seats in the lounge area and the views are absolutely stunning. Everything is fitted out so well and it is convenient for so many attractions and visits. Can't praise the accommodation or Keith enough.

Unique experience
This converted railway carriage, provides excellent accommodation in a great location. Sited at the former Hawsker station, it sits adjacent to the Whitby to Scarborough cycle trail. Bike hire is available next door, but a keen walker could stride out into Whitby or Robin Hood's Bay along the trail. Two food serving pubs are a 10/15 minute stroll away. The local scenery is glorious. The carriage itself is extremely comfortable, with three bedrooms, two wc/shower rooms and a lovely lounge and fully equipped kitchen. There's a large Sainsbury's 5 minutes drive away and Whitby is easily accessible. This place is heaven for train loving kids. It comfortably accommodated our group of three adults and three children. Keith, the owner, was very helpful, knowledgeable and friendly. We'll definitely return.

Fantastic holiday in very novel accommodation
The accommodation is none other than a complete converted railway carriage. There was loads of room inside and it was very comfortable, the master bedroom being quite large. The showers (his and hers), were very powerful and very hot, just the thing after a long day in the saddle. The carriage is situated right on the cinder path that runs from Whitby to Scarborough, and is ideally placed to explore the area by cycle or on foot. Keith, the host was very helpful and went out of his was to ensure we were happy and comfortable and had plenty to do. There are 2 great pubs only 10 minutes walk, both of which do excellent food. The charming town of Whitby is only 20 minutes bike ride away or a gentle 45 minutes walk along the traffic free cinder path.

An excellent location, the facilities were great, and it was lovely and clean. The Carriage has been done to an excellent standard. The beds were comfy, the towels were nice and there was plenty of crockery. It was a holiday with a difference, would definitely recommend.
