Our cottage stay in Sedbergh
Have given 3 stars but would ideally have given 3.5. We think the property is GOOD so sits between 3 (average) and 4 (very good). The cottage is in a good location in Sedbergh. It is next door to the tourist information office and very close to Joss Lane carpark which is really useful for unloading / loading suitcases / bags etc. We were there from 8th to 15th August. It costs just £10 for a week's car parking. Pay at the car park ticket machine. Found the cottage to be very clean and welcoming. Cottage is very quaint and has decent lounge / diner with gas effect log burner. Lounge has very nice large screen smart TV. Area is not blessed with lots of TV channels and the property does not have wifi so, at times, we connected to the TV using our own mobile hotspot. Very good 4G mobile connection using EE. Excellent kitchen facilities ? all looks pretty new. Oven. Hob unit. Toaster. Fridge but no freezer. Washing machine and dishwasher. Microwave. Crockery and cutlery. Tea towels, hand towels, bath towels and bedding / pillows all there. Staircase to upstairs a little narrow and steep but good handrail. Two bedrooms. Double bed in one, two single beds in the other. Smart TV in main bedroom and, again, could connect TV to internet etc. via own mobile hotspot. Good sized wardrobe and drawer units for clothes etc. Bathroom clean and tidy. Overall, a very decent and clean little cottage. We had two issues with our stay in the property. The first issue occurred when there was a massive rainstorm one evening. Rain drops were falling down the chimney and hitting some metallic surface somewhere in the lounge log effect gas fire. It sounded like someone pinging a small bell and that went on for a few hours until it stopped raining. Drove us nuts !! The second, and more annoying, issue for us was using the shower facility. The property is advertised with shower over but is, in reality, a shower hose / head that needs to be held. Water pressure is great. Unfortunately there is no shower screen, shower curtain or shower head vertical rail so it's very difficult to have a shower holding the shower head in one hand, washing with the other hand and not getting the floor flooded at the same time. So, so awkward to do and is really not acceptable. The property owner should really give consideration to resolving this problem. Fitting a cheap, simple vertical shower rail and shower curtain around the bath would completely get rid of the issue. A very simple and quick thing to do. Our daughter and her partner recently moved to live in Sedbergh so, from now on, we will be looking to book somewhere to stay in / around Sedbergh a few times a year. We would be quite happy to re-book this cottage again but only when / if we are told that the shower facility has been improved and that raindrops can no longer fall down the chimney. If these two issues were to be resolved we would definitely give it a 4 star rating.

Lovely stay
We have just returned from a week staying in this cottage it was very clean and had everything we needed.the town is very nice with .some good walks right on the doorstep.the only slight niggle was the lack of a freezer, but we knew that before we went. I must mention the lady in the information office next door to the cottage, she was very helpful and cheerful

Lovely cottage but very dirty
Lovely cottage but wouldn?t stay again as it was so dirty. Too much to detail but stained bed linen and pillows no pillow protectors, dirty cupboards hand rails and door knobs dirty tiles and bathroom towel rail. Lots of dust on pictures and curtain rails, dirty and dusty drawers and bed frame full of dirt and hairs disgusting, dirty tissue under the bed smelly stained rug in utility

Mini Milestone is a fabulous holiday home that we would highly recommend to anyone looking for a base to walk in the Howgills. The decor was excellent and the beds amazingly comfy. The owners were at the end of the phone if we needed them.
