Perfect location to explore the Yorkshire Coast
Easy to find, in a high street that's got all you need, parking is free and easy, cottage is small, cosy, a little tired in places but fine, lovely welcome gift awaited us, no issues with anything. Location is spot on if your intention is to explore the little fishing villages and beaches along the coast, we loved Staithes, Whitby, Saltburn by the Sea and Robin Hoods Bay. Didn?t bother with Scarbourgh. Did visit York as that's only 1 hour away and did consider Durham which is only 40 mins away too. Would definitely stay here again x Thank you.

Good times
This is a small but very comfy cottage , very well equipped especially the lovely kitchen . We stayed over the Christmas break and I was able cook and serve dinner for 6 adults and 3 children . The owner are very welcomingg and left a bottle of prossecco, box of chocolates card and a decorated Christmas tree . They fixed an issue with central heating within 5 mins of a text on Christmas Eve! My grandchildren loved the attic bedroom as they could play up there away from the adults and two of them even stayed overnight up there .even though they lived 10 minutes away . It's on the main. road through the village and parking is on road opposite or on public car park 2 minutes away neither of which was a problem . It's in a very lovely area with beaches at Saltburn , Redcar and Maske less than 5 miles away . Whitby half an hour away by car ,there is a reasonable bus service tor them all . Can walk a 3 mile walk through the woods to Saltburn on the cleveland Way from the door North Yorkshire Moors is half a hour away. . It's so comfy we are going again in July

To be recommended
Bannister Cottage is beautifully presented - fine quality furnishings and fittings throughout. It is very roomy and the second floor space is a super playing/reading area. The owners supplied a delightful welcome tray and offered their help with anything required. In the event, everything was excellent. This was a late booking in order to see an area with which we are unfamiliar. Bannister Cottage provided an ideal base from which to explore Saltburn and Guisborough via the Cleveland Way right from the front door. Further afield, we discovered the NRM Locomotion at Shildon, Ormesby Hall and Beamish Museum. The village has a range of nearby eateries - The Royal George being particularly good. The supermarket is well stocked and the butcher sells a variety of very high class meats. Although there is no parking immediately outside the cottage, this never proved a problem. According to the information in the cottage, loading and unloading is permissible. A very pleasant experience in an attractive and interesting location.

Fab little place!
We booked as a last minute get away for New year and looked at the place and location and thought it would be fab for us, our little girl and the dog! Looking at the pictures we didn't think we would be able to take our pooch as it looked too nice, I had to double check! But you can and it is so nice being able to be somewhere nice, clean and of a high standard with a dog! It's also nice walking in and not realising dogs are allowed here! (Fresh, clean). The cottage itself is lovely, cosy and very well equipped! We walked in to a Christmas tree :) which our little girl loved!- thank you. Yes it is on a main road, and the windows are single glazed at the front as the owners have kept the original features which I think is a good thing but is a little noisy. I struggle to sleep so always have earplugs with me but my little girl and husband slept fine and the back of the house is super quiet! The dog stayed in the kitchen and didn't mutter once, and she can be quite protective if she hears anything! The high street has everything you could need and there are a couple of pubs nearby! Overall a great weekend away! Would highly recommended and would return!
