Disappointing
Really disappointed just returned from a 7 night stay. This place could be amazing but we found it really shabby and anything but chic.
The house is in a brilliant location and is very spacious.
However we found it dirty and neglected.
To say that check in had changed from 3pm to 5pm because property now required a deep clean after each guest - im confused as to where any cleaning took place.
Mould on all windowsills, so many cobwebs that were thick with dust and had obviously been there for a long time. Congealed food on living room tables and under drinks coasters.
Broken fridge door handle so you had to operate with a piece of stuck out metal.
Oven has not been cleaned for months, when we first got there we couldn't switch the oven on and when we rang we were told "somebody must have switched it off, reset the clock I cant remember which button just try them all)
Dirty colander had the remains of someone's pasta dinner in it.
Draw missing from furniture, damp mouldy towel left in a piece of furniture, bag full of sweet wrappers and rubbish behind draws in the single room.
Cobwebs and dead insects on the windows, curtains hanging limply.
Only one tv, a piece of paper with 4 or 5 channels written on it covered in spilt tea really set the tone.
This place just felt neglected and dirty. Shame because plenty of room for families and friends
They need to do something with the rear garden fence it in properly - as dogs and small children could find themselves on a very busy and very loud road.
Games room was a good idea but sadly the cloth on the pool table was badly ripped and the cues where broken (bar one)
Broken darts in a tin that our little one found - no dart board
Again great location loud traffic noise but this was advertised when we booked it, good space would benefit from some care and attention. I understand that previous guests will have caused the mess but I expect the cleaning team to have found what we did and remedy in time for the next guests.
