Situated in one of the best locations in Sandsend overlooking the beach and with stunning long distance views of Whitby, a fabulous period style cottage with excellent fittings and furnishings.

Ground Floor The front door opens to a lovely sitting room with wood burning stove - perfect for chilly autumn and winter evenings - a flat screen TV and comfortable seating. The bay window provides an ideal dining area, with dining table and chairs, to enjoy meals with the sea views beyond. The kitchen is well-equipped with modern appliances including oven, hob, microwave, fridge/freezer and washing machine/dryer.

First Floor On the first floor are two bedrooms - a double bedroom to the front overlooking the beach, and a pretty twin bedroom to the rear of the house. A smart, recently refurbished shower room offers a shower, WC and hand wash basin. Outside To the front of the cottage is a pretty, enclosed lawned garden with a table and bench set, perfect for al fresco dining or sipping a glass of wine at the end of the day.

Lack of apology from owner
Booked this cottage (which is a 2 bedroomed not 4 bedroomed property) and arrived overnight to find shower leaking and water all over bathroom floor. Holiday agent Yorkshire Coastal cottages arranged emergency plumber who informed us that temporary repair had been carried out the week before arranged by the owner. Plumber turned hot water off. We decided to stay as hopefully shower could be replaced in next day or two. Unfortunately we were informed next day the shower would not be attended to by the owners until Saturday, the last day of our week's holiday. Yorkshire Coastal cottages informed us there was no where comparable to move us to so we had a choice to stay or go home. We chose to stay rather than lose our holiday.Hot water switched on by ourselves for a 2 minute leaking shower each morning then no hot water for rest of day. List of various different broken equipment left for owners at the end of our stay ie. many lights not working, bathroom window lock broken, ironing board legs corroded etc. All minor but not acceptable in "luxury" property. On returning home, long drawn out saga to seek compensation which Yorkshire Coastal cottages had informed us they would be seeking from the owners, as the owners had been aware of faulty shower before our arrival. Compensation refused by owners and no communication from them about list of other issues. No apology was made either which is the most upsetting part of this. To charge £800 per week for a property that is not up to scratch is shocking and to refuse to engage with paying customers is appalling. Eventually received 25% of holiday back from agent after many phone calls but owners should be ashamed of themselves. It costs nothing to say sorry.
