Great location
Beautifully decorated, comfortable house, well located within short walking distance of the station and lots of lovely little shops, pubs and cafes. We used our car just the once all week. The only difficulty was deciding where to walk with such a variety of short or long hikes straight from the front door. If we fancied further afield we jumped on the train. A visit to the train station is not to be missed. The property was absolutely ideal for our extended family of mixed ages and walking abilities/desires. A highlight for us was taking turns producing the evening meal using the Aga. We certainly got better at it as the week progressed. The kitchen is beautifully equipped and sitting round the large kitchen table eating our evening meal was a great way to finish each day. Another highlight was the bathrooms. The showers were fab but even I a shower person was tempted by the free standing bath after a very snowy, long walk. Being soft southerners and visiting in March with snow on the ground we did find the house a little cold downstairs (the bedrooms/bathrooms were lovely and warm) however stoking up the open fires or sitting next to the Aga soon warmed us up.
