Great location, sadly tired and dated
Firstly, I need to state the positives. Location, location, location with nice swimming pool and onsite facilities. Sadly, the property is very tired and dated with a woefully under-equipped kitchen and a 'sad' air of neglect by the owners. That said, it is clean and they have got WiFi which was a nice surprise as this is not mentioned in the Sykes holiday listing so they need to get that updated. Heating is electric and it is damp and musty as it is located in the Tamar Valley which is a bit damp. We could not work out the heating so called owner once we located the 'welcome note' (no reply) and then popped onto YouTube where we got the information to over-ride the system. If not, we would have froze. No welcome folder and bits of paper and a drawer full of instruction manuals is no way to run a holiday home and I would get that information put into a plastic wallet folder. It was annoying. The new sofas and chairs are great and we slept well. However, the kitchen is a notch pitch of stuff, plenty of which needs to be chucked out and the knives useless. Be aware, no washing machine or tumble dryer so if you are here for 2 weeks, you will need to find a laundrette. The grass outside the property is long and needs a cut and there is a play park right outside but no net curtains so no privacy. Dining table is glass which is just daft in a rental property and no tablecloth so we bought a blanket from charity shop to put on it. Seals are blown on some of the uPVC windows and the whole place needs a lick of paint and a bit if TLC. It's not rocket science and with few inexpensive tweaks like putting a grab rail in the other side of the high sided bath purely for safety reasons and replacing the stained shower curtain (yuck) plus the duvets and cheap bedding as it could be so much better. People are eating in more to save money so a decent kitchen is important. We won't recommend or return but hope the owner takes the time to sort these issues out.
