Cosy cottage for two, in Penwithick close to The Eden Project. Romantic retreat. St Austell and Charlestown less than 3 miles.

St Austell less than 3 miles. This cosy, semi-detached cottage is 200 years old and is a beautiful blend of old and new. Set beside the owner's home and their large gardens and paddock, it is situated in the village of Penwithick, a short drive from St Austell and just three miles from the fantastic Eden Project.

Set back from the heart of the village up a long tarmac track, a short walk from the convenience store and fish and chip shop, this wonderful little property is a lovely, romantic base for couples to explore Cornwall. The front door opens directly into a small, pretty open plan living area with a deep, comfy sofa beside the window and a beautiful, modern kitchen with a Belfast sink. There are wooden overhead beams and a stunning, stone feature fireplace set in the far wall.

Upstairs, there is a shower room and a charming double bedroom with lovely countryside views from the window and a stunning, original stained glass window set between the bedroom and hallway. There is also a pretty, decorative heater above the bed and a large wardrobe so you can fully unpack and really make yourselves at home at Longview. Outside, to the front of the cottage is a large lawned area shared with the owners, as well as a private seating area directly in front of the cottage.

In the summer, this make a fantastic spot to sit out with dinner, or enjoy a glass of wine as you enjoy the peace and tranquillity of this superb location. There is ample off-road parking and the Eden Project can be reached by foot across fields from the back of the property. This area of Cornwall is incredible, with so much to see and do.

The Rainforest and Mediterranean Biomes of the Eden Project are an absolute must-visit, and you can visit St Austell, the delightful Charlestown and enjoy beach days at Carlyon Bay. Slightly further afield is Newquay and Perranporth, Truro, Mevagissey and Looe. Also The Cornish Way Clay Trails are nearby with over 200 miles of inter-linking walk and cycle paths to enjoy.

The Polperro Heritage Coast is excellent for walking enthusiasts, whilst the village of Polperro itself is a wonderful day out. Infamous for its smuggling tales, there is a museum, shops, restaurants and you can take fishing trips from the harbour. However you choose to spend your holiday, this delightful little cottage will certainly be the cherry on top of your Cornish getaway!
