Helston less than 5 miles. Nestled on a picturesque working farm in the midst of the Cornish countryside is this wonderful single-storey cottage, Edwin's View. Boasting rough rendered walls, traditional beams and tiled floors, Edwin's View presents a contemporary take on a rustic farmstead, complete with all the modern comforts you need for four guests.
Discover a homely sitting room to relax in with a corner sofa to cushion you, a woodburning stove to keep you warm and a TV with Sky for excellent entertainment. Sit in the bright conservatory where a sofa and armchair provide ample space to relax with a good book whilst the beautiful countryside provides the perfect backdrop. Travel along the hallway beneath the exposed timber beams in the ceiling, coming across the charming twin bedroom with windows overlooking the farmyard, a TV and a quirky clothes rail upcycled from an old pipe.
A beautifully tiled bathroom hosts a P-shape bath with an overhead drench shower to offer additional luxury, with a heated towel rail, basin and WC too. The master king-size bedroom is a romantic spot for two with a pretty metal frame bed, oak furnishings and an outlook over the farm. Take a few steps down from here and into the fabulous kitchen/diner, with a fitted kitchen boasting all the essentials for a self-catered stay, along with a long extending dining table for family gatherings and delicious home-cooked meals.
Enjoy time outside in your own enclosed garden complete with a lawned area for the dogs and children to play on, along with a patio and seating for alfresco dining and relaxing in the sun. The charming village of Nancegollan lies near to Praze-an-Beeble, a neighbouring village with the nearest local shop and a pub, St Aubyn Arms, whilst the larger bustling town of Helston lies just over four miles away, boasting a range of both amenities and attractions. The Helston Heritage Trail can take you along the streets of one of Cornwall's oldest towns and show you the relics of the past, while The Museum of Cornish Life housed in one of the town's historic Market Buildings is home to thousands of objects and various exhibitions to keep all entertained.
Pass Helton's Kennels, open water channels brining clean stream water into the town, as you walk down the streets finding lovely independent shops and businesses to browse, along with restaurants, cafés and traditional pubs. Visit on a market day, with Helston being home to one of Cornwall's largest farmers' markets, perfect for picking up some locally sourced and fresh ingredients. Penrose estate is perfect for a day outdoors with a large area of woodland to explore lined by miles of paths, bridleways and cycle trails, with dogs welcome here too.
Take a trip down to the UK's most southerly working port, Porthleven, home to a picturesque harbour with huge sea walls, so big that during winter storms people visit the town to see the incredible waves crashing over the large sea defences! Experienced surfers love this area for the wild waves, while the more family friendly beach of Praa Sands is perfect for beach days on the sands. Embark on walks along the South West Coast Path and explore The Lizard, stopping at the charming villages along the way. Delight in an adventure in Cornwall at Edwin's View.
