Kernyk is a romantic barn conversion settled into the countryside of Trethewey near Sennen, Cornwall, with close by beaches and walks. Sennen less than 3 miles; Penzance less than 8 miles; St Ives 16 miles.

Sennen less than 3 miles. Kernyk is a charming granite barn conversion set within the countryside at Trethewey near Porthcurno, offering an inviting retreat for couples looking for a rural escape close to Cornwall’s coastline and some of its finest beaches. Set within one of the most westerly villages on mainland Britain, the property is well placed for exploring Cornwall’s dramatic coastline, beautiful beaches, and scenic walking routes, with a well?behaved pet welcome to join the adventure.

Inside, the barn has been thoughtfully arranged to create a welcoming space to return to after days spent outdoors. The sitting room provides a relaxing area to unwind, while the kitchen/diner is well equipped for preparing meals to enjoy together. Exposed wooden roof beams in the king-size bedroom add character and charm, creating an inviting space to rest, served by a contemporary shower room with a walk-in shower.

A sofa bed in the sitting room offers additional flexibility for an extra guest on request. Outside, a non-enclosed garden area with a bench provides a pleasant spot to sit and take in the surrounding countryside, ideal for morning coffee or evening relaxation. The nearby village of Porthcurno boasts one of the most attractive beaches in Britain, the famous Minack Theatre and the PK Porthcurno Museum of Global Communications.

A bit further away, Sennen has a mile-long stretch of white sand, popular for surfing, coastal walks, and relaxed days by the sea, along with a surf school and a beach bar overlooking the shoreline. Sennen is rich in history and character, the village features a medieval church, gallery, Iron Age fort, a small selection of shops, and a weekly farmers’ market at the community centre. In the summer months, the beach becomes a lively focal point with live music, barbecues, and surfing competitions.

With countryside walks, sandy beaches, and coastal scenery all within easy reach, Kernyk provides a memorable base for discovering this striking corner of Cornwall.
